I saw a long neck pace through the water at the Murchison Falls. After checking more closely, i realised that it was an African darter(Anhinga rufa), also known in many parts of Africa as the Snakebird. These birds though common on most of Uganda's water bodies are rather elusive for photographers - they are usually very aware of one trying to sneak up to make a photo.
On this occasion, the snake bird had snagged a fish and didn't seem to care. For about five minutes she tried to maneuver the fish into a correct position to swallow, by tossing it in the air and rotating it. Eventually she managed and looked so proud of herself.
