😀🌀The narrow streets of the village are dotted with small shops and craft shops where the art of ceramics reaches truly unique levels, both in terms of shapes and colors. Each object and furnishings is re-proposed in ceramic: tiles, plates, object holders, ashtrays, amphorae and ornaments of all kinds, vases, statuettes, tea and coffee sets, sacred objects and the very famous donkeys.
The donkeys, which later became the symbol of Vietri ceramics, are an 'invention' of German ceramists who, attracted by the sun and the sea, between the 1920s and 1940s, moved to the charming coastal town. Skilled chemists, the Germans invented formulas with which they created particular colors of the ceramics, considered "unique", among them the famous "Vietri yellow".🍋⚜️

Styles and contaminations are still being proposed. In the same way, however, we aspire to new experiences: from the classic warm tones of these places, we move on to glimpses of the country and scenes of everyday life and imaginary and contemporary figures. These are the details that determine the strong personality of the inimitable Vietri Artistic Ceramics.

⚜️Land of talents, art, creativity and colors🌈

Vietri sul Mare, the "first pearl" of the Amalfi Coast🍋, already inhabited at the time of the ancient city of Marcina (presumably founded by the Tyrrhenians), the town, in addition to offering a splendid sea, is surrounded by magnificent Mediterranean vegetation.
Like all the towns of the Amalfi Coast, one of the most beautiful corners of paradise in the world certified by UNESCO with the seal of World Heritage, Vietri sul Mare has a strong tourist vocation and is famous for the production of ceramics.

All the colors of the Amalfi Coast seem to meet in Vietri, in the glazes and decorations of the ceramics produced since 1600. Creative synthesis, immediacy of image, colors that come together by contrast and not by nuanced overlapping, these are the characters that mark the path of ceramic production in the city then as today a very important crossroads of marine trade in the Mediterranean.🌈🌀☀️😀

🌄🌀🌌When one looks out over the panoramic view of the coastline near Vietri sul Mare, it is impossible not to notice the two rocks that act as lookouts on Vietri's beach: the two Fratelli have always represented the symbol of Vietri sul Mare so much so that several legends are told about their appearance in these waters.🐳

"Reflection of the moon on the water", has been chosen as the most beautiful word in the world.
And that's right..... and then enjoying it immersed in this atmosphere in our magical Ravello is priceless....

Close your eyes” he said “do you see the sea?”.
I smiled, thinking that I missed the sea, I missed its perfume, its restless noise on stormy nights, its enormous silence in the flat calm.
“This is called Yakamoz” he continued “it is the name we give in Turkey to the reflection of the moon on the water. There is no other word in any other language to say it

⚜️🍷🌿😃Most people who visit the Amalfi Coast come in search of sea, sun, seafood and a sunset . What they don’t realize is the coastline is home to rare, local grape varietals and beautiful vineyards meaning you can even go wine tasting on the Amalfi Coast. Limoncello isn’t the only thing🤣

The Amalfi Coast 🌿☀️is considered one of Italy’s “heroic” winemaking areas because of the seemingly impossible journey from vine to glass. When you drive along the area’s famous coastal road, every glance to the hillside reveals vineyards in terraces only reachable by foot. Grapes are cultivated and harvested by hand, carried in crates on the shoulders of the winery family members and neighbors who feel a profound tie to the land..

ALWAYSSSSSS😃🔝🌿🌀

There are breathtaking weeks with above average temperatures and lots of peace even in these winter months ...but for me the best months to visit the Amalfi Coast are April/May and September/October.
June is also a great choice.
In July and August the climate is always beautiful, even if for some excessively hot, but in these two months the cost is very crowded.

✈🛩HOW TO GET TO THE AMALFI COAST 🍋☀️

Words can’t even begin to describe how beautiful the Amalfi Coast really is. If you’ve had enough of reading about the famous coastline and want to take the leap to explore the region, you will need to establish how to get there, and the best mode of transport to suit your itinerary or tour. Travellers flying from the UK, the US, Australia, or Canada and other parts of the world have a few options to explore.

NAPLES🌀💙 is one of the most popular gateways to the Amalfi Coast, however, there are plenty of options as to how you reach either of these cities. No matter which route you take, though, it’s bound to be filled with scenic views.

✈✈Flights to the Amalfi Coast

The closest international airport to the Amalfi coast is in Naples (Capodichino) , however, most international travellers will choose to fly into one of the larger airports like Rome, or even Florence.

Depending on your travel plans prior to reaching the Amalfi Coast, there are plenty of routes from the UK, all of which seamlessly connect to the Amalfi Coast. Regardless of which city you fly into, you can always book an internal flight onwards to Naples to connect with the Amalfi Coast during your trip. Popular airlines that fly to Italy include British Airways, EasyJet, Jet2, Flybe, and Ryanair, and these may even fly directly to Naples depending on your city of origin. Depending on what your travel plans involve when visiting the Italy or Amalfi Coast, there are many tours that will actually start in Rome then travel with the group towards the Amalfi Coast.

For travellers looking to fly from the US or Canada, the cheapest fares will most likely fly into Rome or Milan. You would then need to connect to Naples via a short internal flight or train . Major airlines that service this route include Delta, Alitalia, British Airways, Air Canada, Air Transat, or American Airlines.

From Australia and New Zealand, . Travelling from Australia or New Zealand, the most popular airlines include QANTAS, Emirates, Thai Air, British Airways, and Air Air China.

🚉🚉Trains to the Amalfi Coast

Known as one of the most relaxing ways to transport yourself from point A to B, if your itinerary allows time for a scenic journey, you should consider travelling by train to Italy. Depending on where you start your trip, you can travel from the UK via France and onwards to Italy, which will eventually connect you with the internal rail network. Trenitalia is Italy’s national train company, and there are routes that will connect travellers from across the country to reach Napoli Centrale to Salerno , which is one of the most direct routes. After you arrive in Salerno , there are plenty of transport options for you to shuttle your way along this picturesque stretch of coastline in order to reach the hiking trails of your choice.

🚐Buses to the Amalfi Coast

If you plan on arriving in Naples or Rome, there are plenty of shuttle sharing options, such as the Vietri sul Mare Shuttle that collects travellers from the airport and drops them off in Vietri sul Mare . Some tours will use a mix of local transport and private transfers along the Amalfi Coast, and will be included in the price of your tour. If you are confident in your driving ability, you could always rent a car if you are travelling independently.

The only railway station is located in Vietri sul Mare and is connected with Naples and Salerno.

HOW TO GET TO THE AMALFI COAST

The Amalfi Coast is located to the South of Naples. The main and closest connection points are: Naples and Salerno . The main public transport serving the Amalfi Coast are SITA buses and, in the summer, ferries and hydrofoils.
The first city of the Amalfi Coast you'll find coming from the south is Vietri sul Mare . The only railway station is located in Vietri sul Mare and is connected with Naples and Salerno.

HOW TO GET TO THE AMALFI COAST ROME FIUMICINO AIRPORT✈✈✈

From the airport take the Leonardo Express, train to the city's main Roma Termini railway station. From here you can take a train to Salerno

There are different types of train from Rome to Salerno:

Eurostar Freccia Rossa (TAV) is definitely the most comfortable option but also the most expensive. In about two hours you'll be at the station of Salerno. Trains leave every hour for this category and are usually extremely punctual. It costs about 40€.

🌿☀️🌀The second village is: 🥁🥳🥁🥳

CETARA 🐬🐬🐬

A fishing town with a busy fishing port, built at the feet of the slopes of Mount Falesio, Cetara developed from the IX century, when it became the settlement of a colony of Saracens. The inhabitants participated actively in the affairs of the ancient Marine Republic of Amalfi, and was under the jurisdiction of the Benedictine Abbey of Cava de' Tirreni for many centuries.
The entire economy of the village revolves around its maritime traditions: the fleet of Cetara is one of the most active of the Mediterranean Sea, specialized in fishing, processing and preserving tuna and anchovies. A recently rediscovered culinary delicacy to be tasted is the salted anchovy sauce, an amber colored seasoning for pasta dishes, produced since ancient times and that derives from the fermentation of anchovy in small barrels of oak or chestnut (also known as terzigni), a descendant of the Romans "garum".
Even the town's name reflects its intimate relationship with the sea and fishing. Cetara, in fact, seems to derive from "cetaria" (tuna fish) or "cetari" (sellers of large fish).

😃PIZZAAAAAAA🍕

🍕🍕🍕🤩🌿Here in southern Italy we say that traditionally "Saturday "is pizza dayyyy... and we reveal Some curiosities🦝🦝🤩🤩🍕🍕.

For the people of Campania region, as well as of Southern Italy 🌿☀️🌀 pizza is sharing joy and emotion. From the historical point of view, the pizza dates back to the beginning of the human civilization, being direct derivation of the ancient "schiacciata", prepared with different cereals, cooked between hot stones and used as an accompaniment to other dishes. It was the earliest unleavened bread for man.

The word "pizza" derives from "pinsa", past participle of the Latin verb "pinsere", meaning to crush, mill. Pope Pius V's chef, in his culinary treatise dated 1570, in describing some typical dishes prepared by the Neapolitans, clearly refers to a "pizza", as "a disc of dough, no bigger than a finger that has to be cooked in oven or in a pan with no lid".

The first traditional pizza was prepared with bread dough, cooked in wood oven, seasoned with garlic, lard and coarse salt. Soon after the olive oil replaced the lard, and were added cheese and herbs (the so called "moretum"); it was called "Mastunicola" if there were some basil leaves. This was the situation in the XVII century when either mozzarella or tomato did not appear among the ingredients of the "schiacciata": they were used from the second half of the XIX century.

The turning point was 1889 when Naples pizzerias started to produce three different kind of pizzas: the pizza "alla vasenicola" (with lard, cheese and basil), pizza "alla marinara" (with tomato, garlic, olive oil and oregano) and pizza "alla margherita" (with tomato, mozzarella and basil leaves). According to tradition, the pizza margherita is named after Queen Margherita of Savoy, wife of king Umberto I, who, during their stay in Naples, on June 9 1889 wanted to enjoy the pizza prepared by the best pizza makers of the city, don Raffaele Esposito and Rosa Brandi, owners of a pizzeria in Via Chiaia.

You want to know how to make "Limoncello"🍋🍋🍋😃😃😃 ?!?!?!

🍋Limoncello produced in Amalfi Coast🌀

According to local tradition, a good lunch or dinner must finish with a glass of delicious limoncello. The limoncello is the traditional liqueur distilled from the peel of the Amalfi lemons (PGI Amalfi Coast lemons, also called sfusato amalfitano) produced in all the towns of the Amalfi Coast. It's a natural liqueur, with special properties, a unique taste, perfumed, obtained by an ancient recipe. Simple to prepare, without added coloring, stabilizing or conserving agents: the simple way and cure to produce it emphasize the originality and the purity, just like much time ago.

The limoncello must be served cold in icy glasses.

THE RECIPE🌀🍋😃

Ingredients: 15 PGI Amalfi Coast lemons with a thick peel, 2 x 750ml pure alcohol, 4 sugar cups, 5 water cups.

Preparation: Wash lemons by using warm water and a vegetable brush. Dry them and remove the rind by using the special tool to get long and wide piece of rind. Fill up one water jug of alcohol (750ml) and rinds. Limoncello must macerate at room temp. for 80 days in the covered jug without light. It is not necessary to churn. After approximately 40 days prepare a syrup by mixing water and sugar, carrying them to boiling and keep them boiling for approximately 5 minutes until they are not gotten thicker. When the syrup is cold join it to the water jug and the remaining alcohol (750ml). After other 40 days filter the compound and pour it in the bottles.

RAVELLO 🌀☀️🌿🌆

Ravello, already praised by the Italian poet Boccaccio in his Decameron, with its postcard landscape and noble atmosphere that was a source of inspiration for Richard Wagner who imagined the magical gardens of Klingsor admiring Villa Rufolo gardens. Buen retiro for artists, it houses one of the oldest music festival in Italy, the Ravello Festival, which offers a new main theme every years, embracing all artistic disciplines. In addition to religious buildings, many of which dating from the Medieval period, ancient palaces and noble mansions coexist with contemporary buildings, such as the Auditorium designed by the Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer.
The view that you can enjoy from Villa Cimbrone Belvedere is really stunning and definitely one of the most famous in the world!

It consists of 13 Colorful Towns and runs about 40 km, starting from Vietri sul Mare and ending in Positano.

💙"VIETRI SUL MARE" is the first town of the Amalfi coast coming from Salerno and worldwide famous for the production of bright colored artistic ceramic🤩, documented since the XV century. In this town harmoniously coexist noble buildings with its richly decorated facades and the picturesque hilly villages of Raito and Albori where you can still enjoy an antique flavor atmosphere, the organic architecture of the Solimene ceramic Fabric by Paolo Soleri and the Neoclassical style Villa Guariglia, whose Belvedere Tower houses the Provincial Museum of ceramic.
