Great news from our County and City (S**o) officials. The Dredge owned by the County looks to be getting in the water in Wells by April, to be prepped for dredging operation by the County for November dredging season.
We will let the attached memo (full memo at www.sacomaine.org) for the 3/18 city council meeting from S**o City Administrator John Bohenko speak for itself, but a huge thanks to him, Public Works Director Pat Fox, County Administrator Greg Zisner, and County Commissioners Justin Chenette and Rick Dutremble for making things happen. And to our host city S**o for hosting the dredge with our council's and Mayor Jodi MacPhail's unwavering support.
When we focus on what can be done vs what can't be done, with actions instead of complaints...the possible can become reality. Nothing guaranteed, but we look forward to a better winter season next year.

BREAKING: We have passed a Declaration of Civil Emergency for York County in response to the devastating storm that rocked our coastal communities including Old Orchard Beach and S**o. This will enable us to better share and coordinate information and resources of those impacted, working alongside our Federal, State, and Municipal counterparts. Our county’s Emergency Management Agency has been working since before the storm even hit to ensure proper coordination and support for all area agencies. This will further the state efforts to obtain funding from the Federal government in the rebuilding and recovery efforts.

We are on the precipice of history tonight (11/27) as the S**o City Council will vote to sign the Project Partnership Agreement with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. There is optimism that after decades of waiting this will finally get done.

The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Auditorium on the second floor of S**o City Hall. It is also lived streamed on the City’s page (https://www.facebook.com/sacomaine) and broadcast on S**o’s Public Access TV channel. The results will be posted here following the meeting.

It is ironic that the signing will take place in the aftermath of an overnight storm that has produced moderate splashover. Remember, this project is part of the 2022 Federal Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) which puts extra pressure on the Corps to get this done. We have every intention of remaining the watchdog, along with the City and its partners, to expedite this project. There is plenty of work ahead of us.
