Farm Cottages @ Yellow Rock Holidays
As well as developing our Orchard Cabins, we have been renovating 2 cottages on the farm. Mulberry Cottage is open already. Shell Cottage is ready to let but we are waiting on a short-term let licence before we can get going.
Shell is a comfortable, single storey, traditional cottage on a working dairy farm near the Isle of Whithorn. Situated on the shore of Portyerrock Bay, it has parking, a mature enclosed garden and a deck with stunning views over farmland and out across the sea towards the Stewarty Coast, the Cumbrian Coast and up to the Galloway Hills.
The cottage sleeps up to six in 3 bedrooms (1 x superking room with patio doors to the garden and 2 x twin rooms). There is a well equiped kitchen/breakfast room with a dishwasher and washing machine; a boot room; a sitting room with WiFi, a smart TV and a smart speaker; a conservatory/dining room with patio doors to the garden and deck and a bathroom with over bath shower. Outside, there is a deck overlooking the bay with a seating/dining area for 6, a BBQ and a fire pit as well as a wood-fired hot tub complete with lights and air jets. All bed linen, towels and toiletries are provided along with an initial supply of wood for the hot tub/fire pit.
The cottage sits on the coast of the southern tip of the beautiful Machars Peninsula on the route of the . It is surrounded by rolling fields, an abundance of wildlife, stunning seascapes (whatever the weather), and a vast night sky when darkness falls. Shell Cottage would be ideal for couples looking for a romantic, rural retreat, friends enjoying a getaway together or families in search of a quiet break to explore this unspoilt corner of .
It will be available for 3 or 4 night bookings (Friday to Monday or Monday to Friday). Open all year.
