Our last day: walking tour of Madrid and lots of free time. Started the day getting the group our Covid test to return to the States…good news is we were all clear! Then we took a walking tour of the Puerta del Sol, Gran Vía, and Plaza Mayor area. Later we walked to the Prado Museum (no pictures allowed inside). We had chocolate churros as an afternoon snack before lots of free time and then dinner. A nice “relaxing” day of 23,000 steps. 🤣😍

Day 6: such a full day! We started with a guided tour of Madrid, seeing the Royal Palace and a bus tour of the city including a stop at the Plaza de Toros (apparently only the 3rd largest bullring in the world). After lunch we drove to Toledo for another guided tour…a beautiful - and hilly 😂 - city. We had a tapas dinner back in Madrid with some entertainment. A lot of fun!

Day 5: a lot of bus time today. We stopped in Córdoba on the way to Madrid. Our tour included the Mezquita, the Roman Bridge, and the old Jewish Quarter. Andalusia has been this history teacher’s dream to see the Moorish history and architecture I teach about.

Day 4: Seville is an amazing city! We started our guided tour with the Plaza de Espana, then the Royal Alcazar and Seville Cathedral. We topped our evening off with flamenco lessons and a show. Would definitely recommend visiting ❤️

Day 3: travel to Seville via Evora. Beautiful white buildings with yellow trim and alleys to get lost in. Our guided tour included the Chapel of Bones and another garden with peacocks everywhere. Currently at our hotel in Seville for the night!

Day 2 was another great day! Took a day trip to a seaside town of Cascais for a leisurely visit. Got a chance to see the Boca do Inferno, walk through a park, and dip our feet in the Atlantic. We made it back to Lisbon for a guided walk by Bea’s (our tour director) friend from Lisbon. More free time followed by dinner and a birthday to celebrate! Tomorrow we are off to Evora on our way to Seville.
