Updates on Thailand Pass
• The CCSA agreed to discontinue/lift Thailand Pass registration for all travellers, both Thais and foreigners. This is welcome news and we do hope it will promote tourism, facilitate international arrivals and bring us closer to normalcy.
• The current USD 10,000 insurance requirements for COVID treatment for foreign travellers will no longer be mandatory but is highly recommended.
• Travellers still need to show proof of either a vaccine certificate OR COVID-Free test results. Vaccine certificate or Pro-ATK/RT-PCR results (within 72 hours) will be checked by airline staff at check-in and once again when travellers arrive in Thailand.
• Please note that this new Thailand Pass measure will be effective from 1 July onwards.

The Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration (SHA) project is a result of cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the Ministry of Public Health, the Department of Disease Control, the Department of Health and the Department of Health Service Support, as well as government and private sector organizations involved in the tourism industry. Together they aim to make tourism a part of Thailand’s disease prevention measures and ensure that both Thai and foreign tourists have a positive experience, that they are happy and confident in the sanitation and safety standards of Thailand’s tourism products and services. This can be achieved by combining public health safety measures and establishments’ high-quality service standards to reduce the risk and prevent the spread of COVID-19, as well as improving Thailand’s tourism products and service standards.

WTTC’s (World Travel & Tourism Council) ‘SAFE TRAVELS’ is a specially designed stamp that will allow travelers to recognize governments and companies around the world which have adopted the SafeTravels health and hygiene global standardized protocols – so consumers can experience ‘Safe Travels’.
Eligible companies such as hotels, restaurants, airlines, cruise lines, tour operators, attractions, short-term rentals, car rentals, outdoor shopping, transportation, and airports, will be able to use the stamp once the health and hygiene protocols, outlined by WTTC, have been implemented.

While the recent News on vaccines is obviously good, to date there have been no real changes to the situation here and while Thailand is pretty much back to normal within the Country (albeit without overseas visitors!), as you are probably aware, at this time, Thailand and her immediate Neighbors are still effectively closed to normal overseas tourists.
We are of course, monitoring the respective Governments announcements and will keep you advised as soon as we get more positive news …. and as soon as circumstances improve, We Will Be Here - ready to look after your Clients.
