Josephine Baker, Missouri-born dancer, WWII spy, & civil rights activist, has been inducted into the French Pantheon -- the final resting place for France’s most revered luminaries. Josephine is the first Black woman to be honored in the Pantheon!
Picture yourself in the caves below one of the oldest buildings in Paris enjoying a wine tasting dinner next spring... 😍

Thank you to all veterans for your service. 🇺🇸🙏
If you are a veteran yourself, your family has a military history, or you are just interested in learning more about the role of the U.S. in D-Day, our Normandy & Paris tour in June 2022 is for you. You can run along historic sites from WWII and see first hand the serenity of the Normandy beaches that now exist because of the courage and efforts of all those who served.

Have you ever tasted wine from a family run vineyard that's been around since 1450?!? WOW! An amazing experience and even better wine.

Good morning! We traded in the Swiss Alps in Lucerne for the French Alps here in Lausanne! 🗻 While still in Switzerland, we get to enjoy the view of France from the shores of Lake Geneva.
Those could be your feet that you're kicking up after a morning run along the lake!

Chocolate 🍫, knives 🔪 & fries brought yesterday together! Switzerland has so many options that they can deliver a good day no matter the weather. (Which happened to turn out better than expected.🤩)
Our guests (and us!) enjoyed a chocolate tasting, knife making at Victorinox and the most amazing meal as we bid farewell to our 5 days in Lucerne. Next stop, Lausanne!

Once again, one of the best meals ever. (Just a selection of photos from the multi-course dinner at Drei Könige.)
Rotterdam, Netherlands! Views from my morning walk. Rotterdam is so cool with an amazing story of evolution. We are staying in that cute hotel in the right hand corner, Hotel New York, that used to be the offices for the Holland Amerika Line - the shipping line that took millions of Europeans who were emigrating to the U.S. and Canada.
It's very possible that my dad left Europe via these very docks when he was 2 years old.
Dan ran across that bridge in the marathon Sunday! The marathon is a fast & beautiful course with amazing crowd support. Looking for a fun BQ course? This is it!

It really was a great day for a marathon here in Rotterdam, Netherlands! ☀️
The city is an amazing host, the spectators come out in droves with amazing support and a European record & course record were both broken.
And...our very own Dan slayed his race as well with a truly amazing finish time. What a day!
Rotterdam may not be a destination on your radar, but it's a great tour to consider for many reasons (more to come on that). It's not one of our regular offerings, but it's one we can put in the rotation as a custom option. Send us a message for more info on this unique race destination! 🤩🏅

They say Paris is more beautiful in the rain (who else loves the movie "Midnight in Paris?"), but tonight we don't have our umbrella! But, we did find refuge in a cafe 🍷🍷🍷!

A few pics of the leaders in this morning's Paris Marathon. Kenyan Elisha Rotich set a course record of 2:04:21!

Happy happy hour from our favorite place! 🇫🇷🥂
Big pours and good views. Seriously, the Eiffel Tower really is hiding behind that dang tree. 😜

The perfect jet lag cure - a run along the Seine in Paris! Louvre, Tuileries, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame... 🥰
The bill would require passengers to be fully vaccinated, test negatively for Covid-19 within 72 hours of departure or show proof of recent recovery from the virus.
It's World Tourism Day - and we are 13 days away from Europe! YAY!

Today's Iceland adventure... glacier hiking! So interesting and fun. And we did a "Viking pushup" so we could sip from the glacial stream. 🤩
There's no end to all the ways you can have an active vacation here!

Early morning hike/trail run. Got above the clouds for beautiful views of the glacier.

Run Europe!
We are Finish Line Travel - we bring small groups of runners from the U.S. to Europe to participate in a running event (10k to a Marathon) and then we tour around the city or country.
The race is the “anchor” of the tour, but the touring is almost as important. We use private, local guides to get beyond the city’s main tourist sights (and tourist traps) and find the hidden gems (there’s only 8 - 16 of us, so we can get where the big tours can’t!) We slow down and get a feel for what each European city is like for the locals.
We get to enjoy “curated experiences” along the way. This is something that the vast majority of tourists never get to see! These experiences are usually a culinary delight which we use to reward ourselves for the running! Some examples are:
A wine paring dinner in the caves beneath a Parisian wine bar.
A chocolate making (and tasting!) class in Switzerland.
A private beer tour in Belgium where we are lucky enough to taste the #1 beer in the world.
And, many more once-in-a-lifetime experiences!
Our motto is “Race Fast. Travel Slow.” Slow Travel is immersing yourself in a local culture rather than rushing from one tourist attraction to another. And, as runners, we all want to Race Fast! Read more about our travel philosophy here.
