Es importante que el objeto editorial sea una obra en si misma también. Así se

presentan afiches, libros, vinilos, zines, cajas, trípticos, desplegables, poleras y otros formatos no tradicionales. Popolet integra una propuesta curatorial y de diseño a cargo del artista chileno Ignacio Gatica (www.ignaciogatica.com) y la diseñadora chilena Gracia Fernández (www.gracia.io)

Popolet is an independent editorial based in Chile that seeks to promote books and objects that capture the new art scene of Santiago. This editorial project hopes to expand the traditional graphic language and thus set out to create new forms of diffusion that have an intimate relationship with the work of art itself. It's important that the editorial object must be a work of art on its own. Following that line, Popolet creates posters, books, vinyls, zines, boxes, t-shirts and other non-traditional formats. Popolet integrates a curatorial and design proposal in charge of the chilean artist Ignacio Gatica (www.ignaciogatica.com) and the chilean designer Gracia Fernández (www.gracia.io).

Join SculptureCenter on Monday, July 18th for De torpedos y machetes. In this program, held in conjunction with ‘In Practice: Literally means collapse’, artists Ignacio Gatica() and Alan Martín Segal () will host an evening of readings from texts and poems by the interlocutors that have shaped the projects developed and presented in the exhibition. Accompanying the program will be a limited run “cheat sheet” reader produced by the two artists that collate writing by their close network of collaborators and influences including contributions by Juan Carreño, Gabriel Osorio, Cristalina Parra, Carlos Soto Roman, and a non-rigorous translation of Ezequiel Martinez Estrada by Alan Martín Segal.

The readings will be accompanied by a DJ set by Iván Navarro and Hueso Records ().

This program will be bilingual in Spanish and English. 

The program will begin at the SculptureCenter Courtyard at 6:30 PM EST. Capacity is limited, RSVP at the link in our bio.
