Ascent Announcement! 📣📣📣

Celebrity Ascent was the first ship to have two brothers as co-captains, and it’s now our first ship to have two sisters as co-godmothers! We are so excited to share we have found the perfect pair for this honor: Captain Sandy Yawn, star of Bravo’s “Below Deck,” and her sister, Michelle Dunham, founder and executive director of a nonprofit school for children with autism.

Captain Sandy is an advocate for women in the maritime industry, children’s education, children with disabilities, and the environment. She draws on her life experiences in life and at sea to inspire others. Michelle is the successful founder and executive director of a nonprofit school for children with autism. What started as a mission to help her son is now helping more than 100 students reach their full potential.

Late last month I attended the annual SAMA Conference in Coronado, CA. It was a great week of learning focused on how to improve your skills as a Strategic Account Manager, and how to build strong SAM teams. We had a great time networking (on the U.S.S. Midway, how cool!), stayed at the iconic Hotel Del Coronado, and I even ran into one of our TAs during the conference. It was a great event and gave me ideas 💡 on how we can improve our effectiveness as SAMs at Celebrity! Check me out in a fighter jet in the hangar 😎
