Our Trip to Australia

Well we made it home in one piece :) Our plane was even a bit early! We've had a great time keeping updated with this group and had an absolutly amazing trip!!! However it is nice to be home at last :)

BACK IN CANADA WOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!! Mel got some possible food poisoning(?) on the plane. Not sure exactly what happened but she was praying to the porcelain gods just before landing in Vancouver. But all better now :) Killing time in Vancouver airport then boarding at 6 to fly home at last :)

Found some free internet at the airport but we're just about to board! Ready as we can be for the next 10 hours in the air! Woohoo! Goodbye Australia!!! We'll miss you! Korea here we come!!

Made it to the airport hotel and flying to Korea first thing in the morning! HUUUUGE thanks to Ben and Liv for everything they have done for us over this last year! We'll miss you heaps! And going to miss Australia heaps too :( But it has been an amazing adventure and we've had a blast the whole way through!!!!

Had a great time at the Blue Mountains this morning and afternoon. Didn't get lost! Woohoo! Also had 3 calls from people wanting to see the van tomorrow so hopefully it'll sell! Leaving here in 5 days :(

Heading down to Sydney tomorrow for some souvenir shopping and putting ads up for the van in hostels. Then going to the Blue Mountains for a couple days :)

Talked to our potential buyer today and found out he's already bought a van :( Spent the day taking our stuff out of the van and trying to organize it all!

Made it back to Ben and Liv's yesterday! Taking the van in to Sydney tomorrow and hopefully will be selling it! Fingers crossed!

Enjoyed the Australian War Memorial today in Canberra. Got booted out before we could get some souvenirs though so we'll be heading back in the morning. Just realized that tonight may be our last night sleeping in the van!!! Wow! Only 12 days to go

Went to the Victoria Markets in Melbourne yesterday which was really cool!! Heading out today towards Canberra, the Capital of Australia!

Well we spent 2 hours walking around hopelessly and never found the train into Melbourne :( But today we went to meet Corrine's inlaws and learned her father-in-law played harp for the Johannesburg, Adelaide, and Melbourne Symphony Orchestras!!! Had a great time at their place today :D

Well our plans got tossed around a fair bit and we won't be pulling into Corrine's until tonight but we went to see Great Ocean Road and the Twelve Apostles today which was beautiful!! Hopefully getting pictures up tonight, possibly tomorrow!

Made it to the mainland at sunrise this morning :) Checked in to a caravan park for the night and going to see Corrine tomorrow!! :) We'll add new pictures while we're there

Unfortunately Cradle Mtns were SUPER fogged out so we didn't get a chance to hike :( Instead we saw the tassie tiger exhibet and drove down to Mole Creek. In the morning we went a wildlife park that has a big tasmanian devil facility :) We got to hold a wombat and pat the devils. Also saw them group feeding which was really cool!Heading back to the mainland now :( Bye bye tassie!

FINALLY got some internet! Sorry for the lack of updates but there's poor coverage in Tas which means our internet stick doesn't work. However we've been having a GREAT time! We went to the Bay of Fires, penguin tour in Bicheno, did a ghost tour at Port Arthur (an old prison) and then a wilderness boat tour and saw the highest cliffs in the southern hemisphere and seals! Heading to Cradle Mtn now!

Had a massive fright on the ferry last night when we got back to our seats and our travel journal was missing... Spent all night worrying about it but it turned up in the morning a few seats down from us. Andrew's sandal broke on the trip, which was pretty familiar to him :P In Tasmania now cruising around and heading to Beauty Point and Bay of Fires today! Saw snow in the mountains too!!

Getting on the ferry around 5pm and leaving shore at 7:30 for an ELEVEN HOUR ferry ride... :P So excited to see Tasmania!!

Well we hit the road again yesterday and stayed the night at a rest stop somewhere outside of Sydney. Staying in a place called Wagga Wagga tonight at a caravan park, then going to see Narrandera tomorrow, where Jessica (a character in Melissa's favourite novel, based on a true story) grew up! Then on to Melbourne

Hope everyone enjoyed the pictures! Took the van in to a mechanic today cuz it's been backfiring and lost power, and he fixed it up quick and for only $60! It sounds great now! We'll sadly be leaving tomorrow though :( Heading down towards Tasmania

Made it to Ben and Liv's yesterday and it was so great to see them again! Jada is so much bigger now! We'll be here a couple days visiting then back on the road.

Made it to Newcastle and on the way we saw a Dave Evans Motors :P Staying at a caravan park then on to visit Ben and Liv tomorrow :D Can't wait!

Stayed the night at a caravan park last night and hit the road this morning. Andrew had another great surf today at seals rock. The lessons seem to have really helped him! Staying tonight in a town called Forster then heading to Newcastle for tomorrow

Had a great time at Harry Potter last night!! Went to Cape Byron this morning to watch the sunrise from Australia's easternmost point! A bit of surfing today for Andrew then continuing our drive down the coast :)

So apparently we shouldn't post what our plans are or they'll get changed :P Last night a man approached us with surf lessons and we went out and did that this morning :D Mel did amazing and I picked up a few tips as well :) So sunrise tomorrow if all goes to plan
