The Delta One experience is how I always want to fly - it absolutely spoils you!

For our departing flight to Rome, we actually flew into JFK the night before so that we could fly to FCO on Saturday evening. (Also, s/o to The Benjamin Royal Sonesta New York - I redeemed a free night with my Sonesta Travel Pass points & still got a nice suite upgrade for the night 🙌🏾)

Because I wanted the *full* experience in the Delta One Lounge, we arrived to JFK on Saturday around 2pm. And to my surprise, the Delta One check-in process at JFK was live! It's a private check-in exclusive to Delta One passengers, a private TSA experience (no chaos, no yelling), and then straight off to the lounge. The entire process took about 5 minutes.

Onto the D1 Lounge - incredible! Because we flew Air France Business class on the return flight to JFK, we got to visit again before our last flight back to Charleston. A few highlights:

FOOD/DRINKS: I think the star of the experience is the full-service restaurant in the lounge. We tried just about everything on the menu between both lounge visits 😂, but my favorites were the short rib agnolotti & the steak frites. Everything is complimentary and you'll only pay for top-shelf beverages. There's always a lounge attendant walking around with champagne or food like lobster rolls. You definitely don't leave unsatisfied.

WELLNESS SPACE: If you have time, definitely make some appointments. There's a longer wait for the relaxation (nap) pod, so sign up for that early if you need to sleep. The massage chair is NOT like the ones you find in the malls... this one was legit. There are also mini-treatments (facial, head/neck massage, etc.) available to book. I took advantage of a shower each visit to freshen up - it's a large, clean bathroom space that has everything you need.

CROWD/AMBIANCE: The lounge is beautiful! I'd been reading reviews that the space gets crowded in the evenings (as many international flights start to take off), but we didn't experience that. There was plenty of space for us to relax and not feel like we were on top of people. There are a few quiet zones near the Wellness area and there are also private work pods available if you need to be in a soundproof zone.

After this, I am so pumped to try the Delta One experience at LAX! Sounds like another bucket-list trip loading...

Cruising is *not* what it used to be - and if you've never sailed or haven't sailed a while, this insider's guide is worth a read!

As a travel advisor, AKA someone who is constantly planning, figuring out the next thing to do, and organizing all the details 🤯... I love cruising. I can get on the boat, be taken care of by all of the helpful crew members, and choose from a list of activities already planned out for me. I get to turn my planning brain off and just enjoy. We got to experience this last week before heading off to Rome. The Delta One check-in at JFK was quick and easy... in fact, we were the only ones in the entire check-in area!

Once Delta agents checked our boarding passes at the door, another agent took our checked bag and got us all checked in. There were refreshments and snacks available before heading onto our private TSA experience. A quick walkthrough and we made our way straight to the Delta One lounge. 🥂

Delta Air Lines has unveiled a final addition to its Delta One Lounge at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK): a private TSA checkpoint.
