What if

…I don’t get a happy ending?
…This pain doesn’t go away?
…He answers my prayers with “No?”
…Life never looks like I hoped?
…I lose again?

I know God can—but what. if. He. doesn’t?

What if???

Faith is so much more than believing He can.
Faith is trading our “what-ifs” with “even ifs.”
Faith is flipping every “if only” to “only God.”
Faith isn't "will you, Lord?;" faith is "your will, Lord."

Even if
..I don’t get a happy ending
…This pain doesn’t go away
…He answers my prayers with “No"
…Life never looks like I hoped
…I lose again

Your will, Lord. Let me not bow to the will of another. Not even my own.

Even if
..He chooses not to rescue me from the fire, He will certainly be with me in it. May my faith be big enough to say "even if."

So that, when I refuse to bow, a watching world can peer into my trial and see Him.
_______________

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ (I Peter 1:7)

Day 11 We do not want to go home! Holy Spirit led this mission every single day! He was there confirming us in our devotions, through people, and signs. It was incredible! More of our purpose was established and our eyes opened. Anthony found his calling in Missions and plans to continue pursuing God’s leading.
The kids didn’t want us to go. The bonds that were formed were such blessings. Our final moments were without a doubt very disheartening. Until we meet again Roatan.

We are planning for a team in February, which the kids said was too far away 😢. So many connections from the east and to the west of Roatan! God Bless! In the meantime there is work to be done!

Day 10 Wow! Now that is how prayer meetings are supposed to be like! The Holy Spirit was moving this morning! Praying together was so powerful! Can’t wait to come back and pray with them again. It’s such a godly example. We were overjoyed to be a part of it. We had some time before youth group so we again ventured out with the kiddos. This time we went to French Harbor to play some basketball and grab some pizza. 🍕
Youth group was moving! Anthony led a short sermon on being a servant like Christ is to us. It’s something missing from our young people today. God’s glory really shone through. So proud of him ❤️. I believe that more youth need to experience missions. This trip really impacted him in a way I believe changed him for God’s purpose. It was a special night. We laughed and played a game. They need much more of this. What a way to end our time here.

Day 9 We went to take footage of the house that we are trying to raise $10,000 to rebuild. Next to it Pastor Dave, Charlie and his son Johnny are building a new home for a family whose home is starting to fall over. The conditions of these homes are not exceptable. We need help.

Later, we once again piled all the kiddos into the back of the truck and headed to Lucy Point. Played some soccer on their local field and then took a dip at the beach! These kids are extraordinary! We had a blast getting to know them. Lucy if your reading this your my mi amore!! It was indeed the perfect day. ❤️

Day 7- Church at Punta Caliente with the Gringos! An amazing Spirit filled morning at church! A message of faith and grace from the book of Romans. God has been giving us a lot of scripture in Romans for our team! Wow! It’s so awesome to see these people worship the way they do in their cirumstances. James 1:2-3. Count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience! Just blows me away!
Our Sunday afternoon consisted of snorkeling and corn hole. We rested in the Lord.
Day 8- Monday we were off early to the church. Cleaned a fridge and took care of a kitten and then ran a ton of errands with Heather and Savanna. We toured the hospital with Dr. Ramos. The main hospital burned down so if something happens his clinic that is equipped with full medical, lab, xray and surgical units is the place to go, however many cannot afford the private practices. We were there with a family of a little girl named Danisha you can see in some of the pictures. She has had a lot of health issues. Bread for the Bight Ministry has been working to help with the care and medical bills. Heather has been the main means of transport for the people of the Oak Ridge Bight. In one picture you will see a small boy next to the car in a drive thru in French Harbor. He is selling donuts for his family. That’s how many make money to survive here. Some kids hold out buckets to fill pot holes to work for money. The poverty here pushes every family member to contribute to the survival. Talking to Charlie who runs his own water taxi’s, he says it is the only means for some children to get to school here. It’s a huge cost for these families to get to school. Running $2 per person each way, it adds up. If you would like to sponsor a child monthly for school message me!

Day 6-Free Day! We spent our Saturday with a young man dear to my heart named Josten. He’s gotten quite a bit taller since my last trip. When he was just 10 years old he helped translate for me while I did a medical clinic for the kiddos of the Oakridge Bight. Now he is taller than me! We started the day with a Mangrove/snorkel tour with Charlie. Then that afternoon we piled a bunch of kids in the back of our truck and took them out to the point to play volleyball! What a day! It was a blessing to get to know these kiddos on their turf. It meant a lot to them. They don’t get the opportunity to do these things very often or at all. Again, we don’t know the impact we have. I love these Oakridge kids! They are amazing! They kicked my butt at volleyball! Monday we take them to play soccer! ⚽️ This was my favorite day so far!

Wow, this mission just keeps getting added onto! The lessons each day God is teaching us are different and more surreal. The needs we are seeing are magnificent. Day 4 was our Cleve Tour and we stopped to feed some families of the dump. They play worship music and give a message before serving the food. On top of serving a meal they give each family rice and beans. This part of the trip is heart wrenching as we served the very children that we worked with the last couple days. Makes you want to work towards giving them a better future which is hard in Roatan. Jobs and pay are slim here. Angelo was our tour guide for the day. Amazing personality and does the Cleve Tour justice! He taught us about the five tribes and island culture. We toured the island all the way to Camp Bay. God’s creation is so beautiful. On Day 5 we traveled to the East End to Oakridge where we got to serve at the church Punta Caliente. We helped in the kitchen and joined in worship service. Later we had the pleasure of a fine dinner with Pastor Dave and Heather. Ending the night in our amazing accommodations at the Reef House, yet another one of God’s greatest creations. Best snorkeling right off your doorstep!

Told ya today wasn’t over yet! Today I publicly shared a recommitment with God. I decided to get baptized. I decided to do it here in Roatan where my journey into my calling for missions first began. It was only fitting that this is the place I solidify that commitment of surrender and obedience. I was baptized when I was ten, not only do I barely remember it, but I strayed away from God for a long time. Since I mended my relationship with God and became sober and really began to desire to actually know God, in my heart I felt I should get baptized again. I didn’t sincerely start following Him until four years ago. It was a Holy Spirit filled moment that I will never forget and I know my Father in heaven wanted me to do for Him. Even the snorkelers were clapping! It was a great way to end the day! Thank you Jesus for giving me life!

We brought shoes for the kiddos from families that live and work in the dump. The joy on their faces to get new shoes was heart wrenching amazing! Most of us will never understand what it means to some people to have shoes. Shoes are so necessary for the foundation of the human body. Just as Paul expresses the importance of our feet as a piece of the armor of God in Ephesians 6-15 which says and shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace. Protecting those feet is important in preparation of spreading Gods Word!shout out to the Prices and Island Family Ministry for donating them!!

The blessings are overwhelming here in Roatan! Our team is only four days in and our hearts and souls have been filled! We have been honored to share in some of the ministries on the island so far. Day 1 and 2 we worked in the new Learning Center for pre-schoolers and Anthony taught some soccer basics. These Roatan kiddos are from the families that work and live in the dumps here on the island. Just to put things into perspective, Roatan is a third world country. They live off of an average of $6000 per year. Tourism helps them survive. Others are not so lucky to live or own a car to work in those areas. Groceries are more expensive here than the US. Day 2 Anthony was able to coach and play a game of soccer with the kids from the orphanage. An amazing woman here started it a few years back, called Kids Kupboard. She graduated from the Jesus is the Solution Rehab which today, Day 3 we visited. It was honor to tell my own testimony of deliverance. My Exodus story! Hearing the Director and founder Dylon’s story and some of the others and the way he runs his program, it’s a no wonder he has such a great success rate. Greg opened up and spoke too! So proud of him, so good! My highlight was witnessing to the women there. Sharing their stories and why’s was pretty amazing. Jesus is the solution. What a day and it’s not over yet!
