Okay, confession time—I’m a nature nerd. 🤓🌎 I get way too excited about cool landscapes and animals when I travel (think waterfalls, wildlife, and yes—caves!).

One thing I haven’t checked off my list yet? Seeing stalactites in Mexico’s incredible cenotes! These formations—mineral deposits that grow downward from cave ceilings over thousands of years—hang like nature’s chandeliers. I can only imagine how breathtaking they must be in the crystal-clear waters of the Yucatán.

I love making dream vacations happen, but one of the biggest hurdles I see is unrealistic expectations about travel costs. This classic Ziggy comic is funny—but also very real! 😂

Before you start planning, do a quick Google search for airfare to your desired destination using your approximate travel dates. That simple step can help you set a more realistic budget from the start.

And here’s a gentle reminder—no, you’re not going to get the same price you (or your friend) paid for a similar trip five years ago—or even two years ago, or last year. Groceries don’t cost the same as they did back then, and neither does travel! Prices change, but that doesn’t mean your trip is out of reach—it just means planning with today’s numbers in mind.
