I’ve been drinking Diet Coke all of my life. 🙄

I’ve quit here and there but it’s always been a struggle, like white-knuckling my way through cravings and all that s**t… and, I’ve always given in and gone back to it.

I quit almost 3 months ago, using these hypno-coaching techniques I’m learning.

This time is very different. This time I haven’t had the cravings, haven’t wanted to go back to it and it feels so good to just simply be someone who does not drink Diet Coke.

A fellow coach and Diet Coke lover heard about how I’d quit and asked for my help to get this monkey off her back too.

We had a session last night and by the end of it, she was literally repulsed by the idea of it. 🤢

Last night she sent me a photo of a big glass of ice water she was drinking instead of DC. 👍

Today I followed up to see how she was doing and as you can see from screen shot #2, she’s experiencing the same thing as me! 🥳

Hi friends!
A fun life update comin' at ya! 😁

I am enrolled in a program to become a coach certified in Integrative Change Work by the Ethical Coaching Collective and The International Association of Counselors And Therapists.

Right now I'm offering Pro-Bono Sessions to try out these new skills and tools that I'm learning and of course, I wanted to offer it to you!

What I’m learning are hypnosis-adjacent techniques to quickly guide people into their hearts and bodies, where they can change any habit or pattern that no longer serves them, sometimes in a really dramatic way. (I quit my 20+ year addiction to diet coke in a 5 minute session using these techniques... it literally blew my mind! AND - tomorrow will mark 2 months diet coke free!)

It feels a little bit like magic, but it’s all neuro-science, and it‘s really cool 🤯😎

For your free session, you just need to come up with something in your life that you’d like to change. E.g.

✅Something you’re feeling nervous or out of sorts about (that big presentation coming up, making big life decisions, having a tough convo with a friend or family member, trouble sleeping, etc...)
✅something you want to do but feel blocked on (moving your body more, eating healthier, earning more, etc...)
✅ A habit you’d like to break (sodas, sugars, alcohol, nail-biting, mindless scrolling on your phone....)
✅ A feeling you want to change, etc. (guilt, fear, anger, anxiety...)

Please note that I’m still a beginner so don’t me bring your biggest “thing” or trauma just yet - I’m not a therapist, and I would hate to leave you feeling unsettled. But for most other things, I can guarantee that I’ll make it fun for you!

Closing up the walls!! Drywall getting installed and wiring also going in today. It’s feeling like an a wonderful home.

Excited to be applying our insulation today. This will take a few days then on to closing up the walls. The insulation and noise dampening will be amazing once we are done.

A ton of welding and lots of cut off wheels and we have the structure completed. Now comes the easy part, interior framing, electrical and plumbing. Then foam insulation and drywall. But before all that we have started out garage. More to come on that part.

Crazy busy and have totally forgotten to update IG followers.

— An update from a few weeks back. All containers are onsite, modified and now in place where the internal walls will be cut to create the open floor plan we designed.

We have been late on the updates to our project. So, sharing some pictures of the process.
We are cutting two of the 40’ containers so we can configure them in a modular way for our design. In doing so we have set up a staging area and as you can see doing the structural reinforcement so they stay square when moved again. Lots of cutting wheels, welding and heavy metal. This is a ton of time consuming and precision work. Out lot is remote so we have also started the process of getting the electrical and water infrastructure in place. Enjoy.

Setting our future home in place. We are so excited to be repurposing these shipping containers and creating an amazing home. The design will incorporate 3 containers configured in a multitude of ways to create a 1 bedroom spacious house. We will also be building a smaller “casita” on our property for my wonderful grandfather.
Next step is to modify some of the containers reinforcing them to get them ready to be moved again. We got a total of 3 and will be getting 2 more in a few days.
It’s so amazing to see the crane operator masterfully do his magic.
Also, very thankful to our wonderful neighbors who allowed us access to fly the containers on to our lot.

First big milestone hit!

✅ Foundations complete

✅ Retaining wall done

✅ Cistern & Septic holes dugout

✅ Tons of gravel delivered

Now we are ready for the containers to arrive and for the next phase to begin.

We got bases in place and starting to get ready for the containers to be placed.
Our project is a bit complicated due to our design which consist of joining several containers together to create an ample living area in our house and guest house.
Quickly we will be staring to build a retaining wall as well.

It’s getting real!!
Things happening quickly as we start getting metal for our columns prepared and the bases ready for poring.

I think it’s going to move quickly and along the way we will have some unique obstacles to overcome. You might be seeing some videos start showing up as soon as we figure out how to use YouTube haha!

Laying out the foundations and layout for our future home. A few of the holes have started being dug to make room for the spread footers which will carry the load of the containers. - on top of each footer we will integrate steel plates to weld the containers in place.

With the property cleaned out we can now start the master planning. With sustainability as our main driver for this build we have decided to create a natural fencing to line the drive into the property. These palm leaves came from the cleaning out of over 40 palm trees by repurposing the leaves, we create a warm and welcoming drive in. And these beautiful wooden metal doors open up to our property. We have stared to set up a little nursery and to propagate more native plants. The fence line will be created by using almost 10,000 sticks from a fast growing tree tree called palo de arco.

🌴 Today’s post is coming at ya with a whole lotta gratitude for this life we are living here in Mexico. 🌴

We have been getting a lot of questions about what we are up to, if we are going back to the states, how safe we feel here in Mexico, how we got the guts up to make the move, the logistics of it... the list goes on and on.

(Literally on a daily basis people tell me that we are living their dream life and they want to know all about how we did it!)

It’s really got me thinking about where everyone is coming from asking these questions.

And… frankly, I think a lot of people have put moving to Mexico back on their radar after everything we’ve all collectively been through so far this year.

I also feel like in the chaos of 2020, I’m really being reminded of how lucky we are to be here in Mexico, living this much more chill life than what it was when we were in the U.S. climbing that corporate ladder and doing all the things everyone else told us we “should” be doing.

So much so that I sent Frank this text message just a few hours ago…
"I sure do appreciate our chill little life here watching telenovellas. ❤️❤️❤️"

(The telenovella thing is because we are now OBSESSED with a new show on Netflix, 100 Dias Para Enamorarnos - if you haven’t seen it yet, check it out, it’s fabulous! Oh, it’s also in Spanish, so it’s a great way to work on your Spanish and enjoy the process!)

People ask us all the time what our plans are or when we’re going back to the U.S. and really… we consider Mexico home, and for now, we don’t have any plans to travel right now due to covid-19. And we are just fine with that.

Sure, I miss my friends and family all over the world and I’m not used to being “grounded” per-se but… if the worst thing that happens to me in 2020 is that I’m “stuck” here in Mexico where I am safe and sound and happy and fulfilled…. I will consider that a huge victory!

Our life here is much more relaxed and we really love it that way. Yes, covid19 is impacting us but we are so grateful to be here riding out the storm. We consider ourselves very lucky.
