Saturday is filling up fast - Sunday too.🎅 Book and come and see Santa,🎅 enjoy a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie. 🎅 There will be Christmas crafts, a raffle and lots of festive cheer. 🎅 Please note if you would like to call in just for a mulled wine and mince pie the institute will be open to all.🎅

Wray Christmas lights switch on will be on Sunday 3rd December with the Institute and Scarecrow Committees once again supporting the village to put on our most christmassy celebrations yet!⭐

If you can lend a hand to organise this year's celebrations or would like a stall at the Christmas Fair, please send a message. 🎄💛

We're extra delighted this year to be joined by Vale of Lune Young Farmers and once again there will be prizes for houses with the best Christmas display! 🚜🚜🚜

Details to follow of our Wrayndeer Dash, treasure trail, carol singing, christingle service, lantern procession, mince pies and mulled wine, Christmas village makers market, festive food from the WI, Christmas decorating competition and of course... a visit from a special someone! 🎅

The weather is looking great for Festival Day on Bank Holiday Monday! Expect to see scarecrows, funfairs, refreshments, stickers for the kids to collect, history tours, owls, pizza, hog roast, pies, seafood and local crafts.We also have Samba Espirito marching band, with the opportunity to try it yourself, Croix Du Nord vikings, dog agility (have-a-go with your pooch), Beyond Radio, great live bands, The Great Scarecrow Ball Race, vintage vocalists, an instrumental jazz band, Tinderbox Creations, childrens entertainers, a craft tent, local artisan foods, some magic, a silent disco at the church and much more! Wray is also home to the George and Dragon, Wray Village Store, Bridge House Tearooms and Greenfoot Garden Centre.
Please note that part of Main Street will be closed tomorrow and only open to residents. Please use designated parking only due to limited space on the village streets.
All day parking costs just £10 per vehicle and includes a free programme and full access to the Wray fair and all the activities above (Funfair rides are extra).
All proceedings go to local charities, good causes and help to cover the costs of putting on the festival.
Thank you all for your support - we hope to see you all there for a ‘magical’ day!

Another fantastic event during Wray Scarecrow Festival is the fascinating walking history tour around the village.
Starting at 11am & 2pm Saturday and Sunday and 11am on Bank Holiday Monday from outside the George and Dragon - all very welcome!

We’re proud to be supporting Wray Scarecrow Festival again this year by helping festival goers dispose of their rubbish and keep the village neat and tidy. We’re also joining in the fun with a hunt the scarecrow competition and a chance to win some eco-friendly goodies.
Find Bertie and the rest of his crew looking after our bins at various locations across the festival. All four of them, will be wearing ID badges so jot down their names and send them by email to [email protected]
Winners will be drawn out of Bertie’s hat and notified next week.
