This weekend’s snowstorm wreaked havoc on many Canadian travelers trying to escape the cold – including me! ❄️✈️
Although weather-related disruptions are completely out of our control, that doesn’t make them any less stressful 😖
Here are 4 ways to protect your next trip when travel plans go sideways:
1️⃣ Get Travel Insurance! If you think your credit card or work insurance has you covered, read the fine print! Many policies have insufficient coverage, and you may need to top up to ensure you're fully protected for cancellations, delays, and extra unplanned expenses.
💡 Pro Tip: Double-check the "covered reasons" in your policy—some plans won’t reimburse you unless a delay lasts a certain number of hours or if a storm was named before you bought coverage.
2️⃣ Know Who to Call! If you're on a package vacation, make sure to meet your on-site rep (e.g., Sunwing for Canadians, Apple Vacations for US travelers, TUI for Brits). If your return flight is canceled or delayed due to weather, they’ll provide flight updates, let you know if the tour operator will cover additional hotel nights, and may even assist with compensation for an extended stay.
3️⃣ Have an Emergency Credit Card Ready! Insurance reimbursements take time. If you need to book a last-minute hotel or flight, a credit card with a good limit can be a lifesaver until your claim is processed.
4️⃣ Work with a Travel Advisor (that's me! 😉) When flights are canceled or plans go off the rails, I help my clients navigate rebookings, delays, and alternatives—saving them time, money, and stress.

🤠 “Keep Austin Weird” isn’t just a motto—it’s a vibe, and you can see it and feel it in this city’s quirky, creative, and all welcoming soul.
🤗 Also, if I had to sum up Austin in one word, it’s FRIENDLY. From strangers chatting to us like we've been friends for years (literally happened today in the park!) to helpful locals at the grocery store (a lovely guy told us how he makes a mean tomohawk on the grill), this place is all about connection and good vibes.
🥰 It’s fun, welcoming, and totally my kind of scene!

Amiright?! 😖
We can send people to space but can't make a better bow sticker thing.
Don't get me wrong; I love this season! But some things could use a little Christmas magic or a Hanukkah miracle ✨️
What is your holiday quirk? And how do you deal with it??? (Share - it's therapeutic!)
✨️New York City is pure magic during the holidays—every building, every park, dressed to impress in glittering lights and festive decor. Here’s how I spent just 24 hours soaking it all in:
🛎 Stay: I checked into the @courtyardtimessquare perfectly located within a 5 minute walk to Bryant Park, Times Square, and the best shopping in Midtown. It’s the ideal base for exploring the city without wasting a moment!
🍜 Eat: Warm up on a grey or snowy day with a delicious ramen at @kajikenmanhattan - their creamy broth is comfort in a bowl—trust me, it’s just what you need.
🥐 Indulge: Stop by @auxmerveilleuxdefrednyc and try their croissant aux amandes. It’s not just good—it’s life-changing.
🛍️ Shop: Midtown is a shopper’s paradise! Stroll through the most popular brands, and don’t miss Macy’s—the holiday window displays are magical, and inside, it’s retail therapy heaven.
🎭 Experience: No NYC trip is complete without catching a show! I was thrilled to see @dragthemusical - a fabulously fun and high-energy production you don’t want to miss! And here’s the best part: my amazing 11-year-old cousin made his off-Broadway debut, sharing the stage with none other than @JoeyMcIntyre from NKOTB! Proud cousin moment? Absolutely. 💖
