Tlatsini Haa Kusteeyí. Places that make us strong to our Way of Life.

Last Monday, three traditional Tlingit canoes embarked on a 140km journey across the Southern Lakes from Atlin to Carcross. The Taku River Tlingit teamed up with the Teslin Tlingit Council and the Carcross/Tagish First Nation to set sail on an historic trip to the bi-annual Haa Kusteeyi Celebration.

No Tlingit canoe has landed in Carcross for the past 100 years and the three Nations accomplished this epic 5-day journey through the northern wilderness together, writing history. Part of the Land—Part of the Water.

Gunalchéesh for the experience and the trust. For letting us learn about the Tlingit ways. For making our hearts full and the ancestors smile.
