Our Gin tasting evening with Beinn an Tuirc Distillers is up on our website and bookable! It should be a great night in the Observatory overlooking Torsa Bay with the wonderful Emma, telling us about Beinn an Tuirc Distillers and of course some Gin sampling and a Gin Cocktail. 🍸

It is on Saturday 24th May 2024, 6-8pm at Wildluing, Isle of Luing.

There are limited tickets and they are £30 available from our shop via our website. 🎟

For locals timings link up with the quick 5 minute ferry across to the island and for visitors why not stay at one of our WildSuites at Wildluing and make a weekend of it?

Wow!

We are so lucky on Luing to live where there are dark skies. On the grounds of Wildluing we have limited lighting at night time so we get clear dark skies and the light does not interfere with nature and wildlife.

WildLuing is a great place to take time to stargaze and look at the night sky.

A look inside one of our WildSuites today. Erraid is the second WildSuite on the North side of the site. Erraid is named after the small Inner Hebridean island of Erraid which is an island located just off Mull. The Erraid WildSuite has a Super King bed, kitchenette facilities, luxurious bedding and towels, an en-suite with shower, The Highland Soap Co.® toiletries, a roll top bath with views out across the sea and a private patio. On the patio is a fire pit. We include a bag of sustainably sourced local wood logs, matches and firelighters with each stay so you can enjoy sitting around the fire of an evening with a glass of wine or maybe settle in with a hot cosy mug of tea? Tastes of WildLuing with The Wild Cooke

Tastes of WildLuing with The Wild Cooke was full of sustainable foraging, food and natural beauty on Luing. First guests enjoyed a welcome brew of Fir and Mint herbal tea with Nettle seed, Chestnut and Maple biscuits in the observatory. We then went on a farm tour with WildLuing founders Jack and Emily. This was a great chance to explore more of the island, learn more about the Luing cattle that graze the island and ask Jack lots of questions about sustainable farming practices. After this it was back to Wildluing to be welcomed by Lucy with Heather biscuits with flowering Currant icing and a tipple of Nettle cordial, tonic with optional Peony vermouth. We went for a mid morning foraging walk around WildLuing including the shoreline. Then it was on to lunch! Kitty and Lucy had created a homemade lunch including local meats from Great Glen Charcuterie and a fabulous Gluten free Chocolate cake filled with Apricot jam and Meadowsweet infused whipped cream, decorated with Mirabelle plums and Calendula flowers. After that cracking lunch guests had time to relax in their WildSuites, go for a wild dip or explore the island more in their own time. Later that afternoon guests could make their own herbal tea blend using foraged ingredients. Lucy led a ‘Drink like a Forager’ workshop where guests could sample a variety of concoctions. This was with the addition of the wonderful Mary-Ann providing us with an evening of Harp playing and Gaelic singing including a song about Cuan on Luing - so particularly special to us. The evening came and the local produce feast began at our long Viking-esque communal table with candles lit and local flowers lining the tables. The feast included locally caught Langoustines, Roast Luing Beef, Wild Garlic Salsa Verde, WildLuing Cranachan and local cheese from Isle of Mull Cheese and biscuits. The evening was finished with a tipple from Jura Whisky and Tobermory Distillery for guests before they returned to their WildSuites. #
