This past October, my sister and I took part in a top-of-the-bucket-list 7-day safari with apcomfort safari.. We are older (50 and 72) but opted for the basic accommodations package: a tent for two, sleeping pads and sleeping bags - and it all worked out wonderfully.⁣
Our driver/guide, peter, was friendly, amazingly competent, and put our binoculars to shame with his ability to locate and identify wildlife nearby and at a distance, based on the slightest movement or shifting shadow. Robin, our cook, kept us well-nourished with food that was plentiful and tasty - and always served with a smile. Both were intent on make sure that our trip met our needs and our wants - which it clearly did!⁣
We caught the big five on camera, watched peacefully as a large pride of lions walked downhill and around our vehicle, close enough to reach out and touch (which we didn’t do!) and sat at the edge of a nearly dry stream as a large herd of elephants on the opposite side dug for water, play fought, rested, and gently pushed aside the young elephants who were intent on getting into everybody else’s way. So many stories to tell and such a wonderful experience.⁣
Hellen, our trip advisor extraordinaire, promptly answered all our questions, helped tailor our safari and followup time in Arusha to our needs, and served as a constant source of assistance and support. I can’t speak highly enough of our tremendous safari team - Dennis, Tito and Hellen. It truly was the trip of a lifetime. Asante sana!!⁣
