Where is the Serengeti Great Migration in June?
Just like May, June is another big "moving month" as the migration herds move north.
Some herds reach the western region, tackling their first challenge, the Grumeti River. These crossings are not the renowned ones that occur later when the herds make their way to the northern part of the park and eventually reach the Mara River.
June is also the rutting month when male wildebeest fights for dominance and mating rights.
Many tourists visiting Botswana are drawn to the beautiful Okavango Delta, and it's easy to understand why. But during my recent trip, I was reminded of the significance of venturing beyond the Delta while embarking on a safari in Botswana.
The Linyanti region, with its permanent water, open floodplains, and lush forests, provides a distinct and contrasting environment compared to the Delta.
Visitors can enjoy year-round land and water activities, including boating, barge brunches and fishing. While the area is known for its large elephant population, the region also offers encounters with impressive predators. The Linyanti's habitat supports unique species like roan and sable antelopes, not commonly found in the Delta.
