Almost a year ago we started booking an Alaskan cruise group on the beautiful Ruby Princess...This morning, 11 wonderful passengers left Atlanta heading to Vancouver...Tomorrow they will board the ship for the adventure of a lifetime! ONE TIME OPPORTUNITY!!...When we first started booking the Virgin Cruise that we will be taking with a group on October 11th, they were featuring the best promotion they had ever run. It was the Black Friday Promo last November...A Balcony Cabin for 2 was only $2426 ($1213 per person), AND they were throwing in a $300 bar tab AND $100 in Onboard Credit...This was a 3 day promo...I got a few folks booked on it before it went away...The cost for the cruise today is $2922 with NO Bar Tab, and No Onboard Credit...Here is the BIG DEAL...One of the couples we booked under this promo has to cancel...They paid a non refundable deposit of $413.20. This is an announcement that I have wanted to make for almost a year...I am proud to bring you "Irish Eyes", an 11 day, 10 night, guided tour of Ireland and Scotland! There is a lot of information so I will try and break it down so it isn't confusing:

BASIC INFORMATION...
(1). Date of tour departure is Sunday, May 11th, 2025.
(2). The tour is via Luxury Motor Coach, staying in local hotels.
(3). This is a Group Tour. There are 16 spaces available.
(4). The tour begins on May 11th in Edinburgh Scotland.
(5). The tour concludes on May 21st in Shannon Ireland.

RESTRICTIONS...

Welcome to the latest edition of Open Roads...A Post/Blog concerning everything Travel!

Hey Fellow Travelers. Sorry I haven't posted Open Roads in a while but I have been busy. This is an article from the Global Edge business page: "The popularity of cruises has increased astronomically since the significant dip it took due to COVID-19 in 2020. The global cruise market is estimated to reach 37 billion U.S. dollars by 2028. Currently, the United States is the leading country by far in terms of revenue created by cruises. In 2025, it is estimated that the United States will generate a little under 16 billion dollars of revenue from the cruise industry".

Everybody is cruising it seems and available cabins on popular ships are scarce for procrastinators. I have already booked several in 2025. The days of waiting until the last minute to get a great deal are over. The law of supply and demand tells us that when demand is high and supply is low, the prices rise...Now here is the good news...A cruise vacation is STILL about the same price as a traditional beach vacation AND it offers so much more! If you have planned on taking a cruise this summer but worried that you are too late, just call your friendly neighborhood Travel Agent (That would be me) and I will try to work some magic for you.

A lot of cruisers tell me that they just want a three night cruise. The cruise lines still offer them but my experience is that passengers pack and fuss around before they depart, some will drive a long day or they will spend a lot of money flying to the port city. Embarkation day on any ship is hectic, and before you know it, the ship sails. Usually this is very late in the day like 5:00 or 6:00. after dinner, your long day will catch up with you and you will go to bed. You have just completed your first night of the three. You will have the next two days. One will be in a port and the other will be at sea all day...How much relaxation will you get, probably not much. Then on the third morning you will wake up back at the port and its time to go home.
The point I'm trying to make is that a three day cruise is often a long run for a short slide...You will likely feel like it was over almost before it began. I would encourage you to at least consider a four night if you need a short one...It doesn't cost much more that a three night but that extra day makes all the difference in the world.

Going forward, I want to switch from cruising content and talk more about the million other vacation options (did anyone say Ireland)? Always remember to ask yourself, Where would I like to find myself tomorrow?

Is This Trip Right for You?
This is an active trip, covers a good amount of ground each day. For every touring day, expect three to four hours walking where you will encounter uneven surfaces, stairs, steps significant slopes, as well as considerable time standing. The pace is fast. Welcome to the latest installment of Open Roads, a blog/post related to everything travel. Today I want to talk about something near and dear to everyone...Money! One thing that I have learned in my first year as a travel advisor is that people LOVE to travel and are willing to pay for it. Travel costs are basically relative to many factors...Domestic or worldwide, length of stay, mode of transportation, overall experience, and much more. The thing that surprised me most, was that the average vacation cost for 2023 was $1,919.00 per person. This came from a well respected travel magazine. For a guy who scraped and saved up $500 and was ready to hit the road, I can't imagine paying that much, The point I'm trying to make is that if you are like a lot of people that goes to Panama City, Destin, or Daytona every year experiencing the same things, condo, beach, and dinner at the seafood restaurant, I want to show you what you could do for the same or less cost. How about an all inclusive resort in the Caribbean? I have been to Daytona a lot and I have been to the Iberostar all inclusive resort in Cancun...Guess which one gave me more bang for my vacation buck. This trip includes accommodations, all food, even all the adult beverages I wanted. I paid up front and never reached for my wallet the whole trip. OR you could cruise to spectacular Caribbean locations, all your food included and even Broadway style entertainment for the same price as a condo week in Destin. So this year as you plan your vacation, venture out and live a little. I would love to help you plan it (at absolutely no cost).
