We have two boars for sale, both have done perfect work for us, but it is time for us to diversify.

Both are super respectful of electric fence, have been rotationally grazed for 2 years, and consistently have low egg counts on their f***l tests for parasites, have been fed organic grain and are quite easy to manage.

Rin Tin Tin: Purebred Tamworth, just over 2.5 years old (born April 2017), He came to us via Hogwash Farm at 5 months old but was born at Hickory Oak Farm in Grafton, MA. He has the most beautiful coat, fully red that is golden tinged. Have had several litters from each of our sows, all healthy and good sized. (Have more details on his history, if interested) $300

Balto: Tamworth/Berkshire cross boar, almost 2.5 years old (born July 2017). He was born on our farm to our purebred Tamworth sow crossed via AI to a Berkshire Boar. A bit smaller in stature than our Tamworth boar. He has produced beautiful litters with our Large Black sows. $200

Ready to go, easy to load, we are in Central Vermont just a few minutes from I-89.

Our deep thanks to Governor Phil Scott and Secretary Anson Tebbetts and the team at Vermont Agency of Agriculture for a great farm visit and your commitment to not only Vermont Farms, but Vermont's agri-tourism potential. VT Open Farm Week is a great opportunity to take in and support local farms across the state. Check out their video below from the visit to our farm and may it inspire you to join us in the farmstand, at upcoming events or get out to other farms near you!

Thanks to great journalists and photographers and especially those that love food and farms. Julia Clancy, Seven Days Writer and Eating Well Test Kitchen chef, did a beautiful profile of the farm and our farmstays & tours in this week’s Seven Days. Pick it up on the newsstand of course, but you can…

Brookfield Bees is part of the Vermont Maple Sugar Makers Association Open House tour this year. We will be open on Saturday March 25 and Sunday March 26 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM for visitors who want to check out how maple syrup is made. We collect from both buckets and tubing and boil on a wood fired arch. There is no vacuum, no automatic drawoff and no RO. Just good old fashioned Vermont maple syrup. You can also stop by the store at Fat Toad Farm just up the road to pick up some of their award-winning caramel. Snacks and hot mulled cider are complimentary for visitors who make it.

If you come, make sure your car has at least all wheel drive, as our roads get pretty muddy. From Exit 4 of I-89 follow Rt 66 East for about a mile. Turn left onto Ridge Road. Go 1.3 miles to N. Randolph Road and turn right. Go 1.8 miles to Curtis Road and turn left. Go 1 mile to Kibbee Road and turn Right. Go 1.1 miles and look for Brookfield Bees sign. We are on a dirt road, so 4 wheel or all wheel drive is a necessity.
