🌪️🌧️⚡️Hurricanes, tropical storms, and tropical depressions, OH MY! Cruising during hurricane season will give you the lowest prices, but there’s a reason for that. If this is the best time of year for you and your crew, here are a few helpful tips:

📅 Hurricane season officially goes from June through November. If you are considering August, September, and October, just know you are likely looking at the highest possibility of weather issues. Sailings out of Florida to the Caribbean will be the sailings most impacted.

🛡️Get travel protection! Just do it - no matter when you sail

✈️ Book flights early in the day for less chance of cancellations or delays. Also arrive at least one day before embarkation day, just in case flights get canceled. You may find you have to hop in a car and hit the road!

🌊Go with the flow! Cruise lines reallllllly don’t want to cancel sailings, so they will do all they can to avoid that including changing itineraries to avoid weather issues.

😱Don’t let this time of year scare you away, though! ☀️The weather is usually nice and warm, and prices typically can’t be beat. 😎 Just go into it with knowledge and a game plan. Have you cruised during hurricane season before? Do you have another tip to share?

Day 3 was Park Day! I had one day with a park hopper and I made the best of it! 👌🏻If you have a shorter time in Walt Disney World than you like, listen up because this is what I did!

First, rope dropping Magic Kingdom for Seven Dwarves Mine Train. I was on and off in 10 minutes! Early park entry was key to this, all guests that stay at a resort get 30 minutes extra before the park opens! By 11 am we rode 4 rides and 3 of those super popular ones in less than 3 hours! Then Casey’s corn dog nuggets for lunch, some light shopping and hopped on a ferry and monorail to Epcot!

I bought an individual LL for Guardians: Cosmic Rewind for 2:25. I park hopped to Epcot at 1 and got on 2 rides (Soarin’ and Figment) and 1 walk through attraction (Moana: Journey of Water) by the time I got to Guardians. 1st time riding Guardians and it was a blast! After that I headed back to the hotel using Skyliner to Pop Century station and got ready for the Typhoon Lagoon H20 Glow After Hours Party! This was my first time at a Disney water park and it did NOT disappoint! The after hours party was super fun with some included snacks and unlimited fountain drinks for the party! There was a DJ on the beach, glow sticks and characters dancing on the beach with us! The wave pool is incredible and definitely lives up to the hype!

It was a day packed full of fun and I managed to hit 3 Disney parks in one day!

It’s been such a fun weekend meeting amazing fellow Mousekeplanners, connecting, learning and have a little fun while at it! Thank you to for an incredible conference! ☺️

🫣🌴🍸One look at Gran Destino Tower and the gorgeous rooms in this relatively new addition to Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort had many of us coining a new phrase, “Deluxe Lite.” With all of the scrumptious dining options, the high end feeling lounges, the well appointed & sleek rooms, this tower feels every bit as swanky and splurge worthy as a Deluxe Resort…minus the splurge. ➡️Who else can vouch for the swagger this new Tower addition exudes?

This isn't just any ride; it’s a high-speed race through the iconic Ornament Valley that is so well done you’ll feel like you’ve stepped right inside the Cars movies.

Just a couple of pro tips to make your visit even better:

📏 Racers need to be at least 40 inches tall

☀️ Get to the park at opening and ride first thing in the morning for shorter wait time.

🏰👣😮‍💨After a long day in the theme parks, the last thing you’ll want to do is walk more, am I right? Especially when traveling with small children. 😱 GASP! Some Walt Disney World vets may think a visit to the smaller Disneyland Resort seems a bit unnecessary. But those people would be SO VERY WRONG! Don’t let the size deter you; small is SO MUCH EASIER to navigate. Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park are only a football field length apart, so park hopping is quick and easy!

💙 Plus, the connection to Walt Disney is something no other park will ever have. He LIVED on site while it was being built (the apartment is still there!) He walked Main Street, wandered Fantasyland, rode the waters of ‘its a small world’. THIS is the kind of Disney magic you just won’t find anywhere else.

🏰 It also has many unique, classic attractions, superior versions of WDW attractions, and entire lands you won’t find in Florida. And come on, you can get Mickey-shaped sourdough bread! 🤯

📌Pro Tip: Feeling a little squeezed by the crowds over in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter? 📝💦 Write yourself a new story over in Toon Lagoon. Even on the busiest of park days this is a great spot to grab some food, cool off by getting utterly drenched on a couple water rides and have a break from all the robed Muggles casting spells. Anyone use this less popular (but still fun) area to catch their breath? 🤔
