The story of Bård Aasen Lødemel, from the Norwegian fjords to seducing the world with Italo disco.

Bård Aasen Lødemel is an introverted Norwegian country boy from the fjords who under the artist name Skatebård has toured all the continents of the world, though he’s yet to conquer Antarctica.

Enter Skatebård: Love in the Night is a film about a man's unique life, career and philosophy. Young outcast Bård was the nerdiest boy in the village, and though he played in hard rock bands he found he had a guilty pleasure penchant for electro-dance music. Strapped for cash as a student for many years, he would sit endlessly at his desk and compose music he would one day hope to share with others. He never dreamt of international success, but today he is basically a living legend, drawing thousands of fans to his gigs around the world

We gain an intimate insight into his personal journey, his whimsical inner universe and the mental and creative processes that have shaped his distinctive expression and vision. It is this vision that is the driving force and common thread throughout his life - that music and the language of music is what unites people. It’s a reminder of what we all have in common, regardless of background, language, and religious or political beliefs.
