Day 2: Kennebunkport, Maine

We opted to bop up to Maine for a day to get out of Boston and experience more of the "off the beaten path" of New England. Boy oh boy, I'm glad we did! I love the New England coast and Kennebunkport did not disappoint!

It's finally here! This is Day 1 of my East Coast roadtrip: BOSTON!

Breakdown:
I stayed in a private room in HI Boston Hostel
I ate the most delicious donuts from Kanes Donuts on the Boston Harbor in the sunlight! Enjoyed live music and amazing food at The Beehive. And of course, ate till I couldn't eat any more at Faneuil Hall Marketplace!

This is something really important to me. Everyone listen up!

THERE ARE AMAZING GLUTEN FREE DONUTS IN BOSTON!

I don't think I've had a donut since I was diagnosed with Celiac 10 years ago so when a friend mentioned there were gluten free donuts at Kanes Donuts I knew I had to go.

I was not disappointed at all. There were actual tears of joy. If I could get a dozen shipped to me twice a week, I'd be forever grateful!

Have you ever stayed at a hostel in the USA?

If you've been reading along for our journey the last few years, you know we are a huge fan of Hostelling International USA.

Even as a 30 year old, I still LOVE to stay at HI USA hostels across the states for a number of reasons!

1 - Most have private rooms that are still far cheaper than hotels.
2 - It's a great way to meet people, and I've written in the past about how difficult it is to make friends while traveling solo in America.
3 - There are ALWAYS community events! Free walking tours, mix and mingles, complimentary breakfast, karaoke, you name it and there's an HI USA hostel out there that does it!

I had the opportunity to stay at the HI Boston Hostel on night one of our road trip and boy oh boy, that's an awesome hostel! Check out the pics below and I have more to say in my upcoming post about how to spend a day in Boston!

Helloooooo welcome back to an active Why Wait To See The World Instagram account! I’m (Megan) road tripping for the next month down the with a friend!
Day 1: Quite literally landed us in Boston! I drove 6 hours from Upstate, NY and my friend Anna flew in from London!
We spent a night in a private room at the ! It was in a perfect location for us to walk down to one of my favorite spots in Boston, The Beehive for some live music and late night grub!
are great opportunities to meet fellow travelers in the US and save a few $$. They are usually really unique, interesting properties too!

Hey ya'll! Sorry for the radio silence! Not much travel going on on my end for the past two months, but I'm hitting the road again next week and I need your help!

I'm planning a month long road trip with two Brits down the East Coast and I'd love ALLLLL the recommendations! The quirkier, weirder, and more off-beat the better!
