A jam-packed day of adventures! We started with a boat cruise diwn the Nile that was very reminiscent of The Jungle Cruise! We then visited a Nubian Village, got a henna tattoo, held a baby crocodile, visited a Nubian school that Viking sponsors, took another boat to the Temples of Philae Island, stopped for a lesson im papyrus making, and finally a visit to the Temple at Kom Ombu and Crocodile Museum. Phew!!!
I loved every minute!

No visit to Egypt would be complete without a visit to the tombs found in the Valley of the Kings. Seeing the mummified body of King Tut, along with the tombs of Ramses 4th, King Seti and Ramses 9th was absolutely breathtaking and a day I will never forget!

This morning we were up at 4am! When I tell you it was 1000% worth it, that isn’t even enough. Ballooning over the Valley of the Kings, seeing the stark contrast between the sandy desert and the fertile landscape along the Nile, and watching the sun rise along with 24 other balloons was a highlight of my life that I will never forget.

And…on the 5th day…our luggage was finally delivered to us!!

An AMAZING day all around.

Day 3 of our Egyptian adventure brought us into tombs in Sakkara, where the first stone structure in the world exists, a hand made rug school, and the Great Pyramids of Giza, The Sphynx, and a really fun camel ride! So many bucket list items checked off today!!

Sadly, no luggage and no hope for tomorrow as we fly out to Luxor early tomorrow morning 😩. They are now “hoping to get it to Luxor before we sail away on Wednesday “ I believe nothing now 😞

Day 2 with no luggage. It’s STILL at Cairo airport and no hope of getting it today since the office is now closed and they “lost the paperwork “. Had to buy more stuff today to get us through. Not gonna lie that we are getting a bit more despondent 😞

However- seeing the actual artifacts from King Tut’s tomb at the Cairo museum lifted my spirits! I clandestinely took photos when I wasn’t supposed to lol. It is truly breathtaking to see these antiquities in person and it did not disappoint!

Tonight we’re going to a market and having a traditional Egyptian feast. It should be amazing.

Send all the prayers that they can retrieve our luggage tomorrow! We’re going to see the pyramids and Sphynx and ride a camel!! Can’t wait!

Other than the luggage situation, it has been incredible so far!
