Nairobi, Kenyan's capital city is legendary for its colorful colonial history. The Nairobi National Museum is a great one-stop spot to see exhibits on Kenya's history, nature, culture, and contemporary art. Another popular tourist attraction is the Karen Blixen Museum, a restored residence of the famous Danish author of the book, "Out of Africa." To see wildlife without making a safari far away from the city center, visit Nairobi National Park (the only Park in a capital city in the world), there is a black rhino sanctuary and also home to a host of other classic safari stars. A visit in Nairobi would not be complete without a stop over to the Giraffe Centre close to the famous Giraffe Manor where these long-necked beauties eat out of visitors' hands. Explore Nairobi to be fascinated!!!

Its of interest to know these facts about the giraffes. Baby giraffes are born after a sixteen month pregnancy. The baby giraffes are called calves, and they stay with their mothers until they turn eleven months old, and then they no longer need their mother's milk and begin to eat leaves and other vegetation. At the age of five, calves reach their maturity and leave their mothers. Mating normally begins by age seven. In the wild, giraffes typically live until age twenty. In captivity, however, the life expectancy can go up to age twenty-five or thirty.

1. Giraffes drink up to 38 liter (10 gal) water a day. They also get water from acacia leaves…

INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT RHINOS

Rhinos have poor eyesight but excellent sense of smell and hearing.

Female rhinos gestate their young for about 15-16 months and give birth to a calf every two to three years.

Male rhinos tend to be solitary animals, while females and young rhinos are more social, depending on the species.

Depending on the species and whether they are in the wild or captivity, rhinos can live between 35 and 50 years.
