As incense wafted through the air, a sense of unity enveloped the gathering. The consecration marked not just the physical sanctification of the space but symbolized a shared commitment to harmony and spiritual growth.
In the years that followed, the center became a hub for cultural exchange, learning, and compassion.

Homestay Exchange Program (26th to 31st October, 2023)
The Visitor Information and Incubation Center (VIIC) Haa, played a central role in coordinating a meaningful exchange program, involving 24 participants, including 2 youth representatives. This program provided a unique opportunity to learn how to manage homestays effectively, enabling the identification of areas for improvement to make homestays in Haa even more exceptional.
Thanks to the support of HELVETAS, the Department of Tourism, and all involved, this journey not only enriched knowledge but also forged lasting connections and insights for the future. The participants are eager to apply their newfound knowledge to enhance the quality of homestays in Haa, making them outstanding destinations for visitors seeking an authentic Bhutanese experience.

The closing Ceremony marks the successful Completion of the Bhutanese and Continental Fusion Food Preparation Training Program for Haa Dzongkhag Homestay and Youth Participants at the Haa Visitor Information and Incubation Center.

Haa Dzongkhag, Bhutan - October 12, 2023 A 10 -day culinary training program focusing on the fusion of Bhutanese and Continental cuisine at the Visitor Information and Incubation Center (VIIC) concluded today, marking a successful milestone in upskilling participants from the local homestay and youth community.

Commencing on October 3rd, 2023 , the training program, jointly organized by the Haa Dzongkhag administration, the Department of Tourism, and Swiss HELVETAS, drew to a close today October 12,2023.

The Participants, comprising enthusiastic individuals from the homestay and youth sectors of Haa Dzongkhag,expressed their heart felt gratitude towards the Haa Dzongkhag administration, the Department of Tourism, and Swiss HELVETAS for their unwavering support in providing them with valuable culinary skills and knowledge.

Throughout the course of the training, participants showcased remarkable dedication and enthusiasm to master the art of Bhutanese and Continental Fusion cuisine. Their comment to honing their culinary skills was evident, and they eagerly anticipated utilizing their newfound knowledge to contribute to the local culinary scene.

This collaborative effort between the public and private sectors not only fosters skills development but also promotes cultural exchange through the fusion of Bhutanese and Continental culinary traditions. It represents a significant step forward in promoting Bhutanese cuisine to wider audience while fostering self-reliance and empowerment among the local homestay and youth communities.
