LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION...A great benefit to staying at Laru Beya is our mid-island location and the close proximity of all the wonderful sights Roatan has to offer! One of our favorite get away days in Roatan is to go to the East End, hike to Picachu Summit Port Royal Roatán, go to either Camp Bay Lodge or Paya Bay beach to relax and eat at La Sirena de Camp Bay, Restaurant & Bar!

The only National Park of Roatan, the “Port Royal Wildlife Refuge” with the highest peak “Pico Picachu” offers great views and a surprising different vegetation. If you are interested in a good hike, including great views and some good birding, this a great place to visit. Best of all, you will not run into many other tourists in the park! More than half of Roatan’s rugged, hilly terrain remains in a pristine and natural condition, and the island’s eastern end is largely undeveloped. This area is home to the Port Royal Wildlife Refuge, a 2,000-acre tract of woodlands that provides sanctuary for a variety of native birds and animals. A number of trails give access to the refuge. A favorite is the route to Picacho Peak, which is the highest point on the island.
