Come explore a super cool underwater wreck and piece of history with us! The SS GULFLAND was a tanker built during WW2! It crashed and sank near our shores in the 1940’s. The bow portion of the ship is what we see here sitting in 30-35 feet of water. The rest of it is further away in much deeper. There was so much marinelife here including a surprise Goliath Grouper!

Discovered a baby sea turtle caught between the rocks at Coral Cove Park. Initially, I feared the worst, but to my amazement, it showed signs of life. After lending a helping hand, I guided it toward the water, giving this resilient little one a chance at life.

Love this time of year!

Around this time of year, common octopus (Octopus vulgaris) can be found in the open during the day. Look for them in grassy areas, in the sand and rubble, or in pipes and bottles laying on the ocean floor. The area around their hole is usually littered with shells and other debris. They are highly skilled at camouflage and can mimic the color and texture of their surroundings. (photo by jet)
