A Byzantine frescoe depicting the life of Christ in Yediler cave located beneath Mt Latmos in Muğla province in southwestern Turkey.
Many of the monks who settled here came from the famous desert monasteries of Egypt, driven out by Islamic persecutions. The region is littered with Monastic ruins and ripe for hiking and biking, sea swims, foraging botanicals, exploring Heraklion and taking tea with the locals in glorious Spring sunshine ☀️ ❤️ 🇹🇷

Sophisticated take on 🇬🇪 .restaurant in Charlotte St, London: Wagyu, peppercorn plum sauce and svanetian salt’ 🕺🏻 ‘Langoustines, wasabi, matsoni’🤩 ‘Rabbit, foie gras mousse, apple and fennel chutney 🐰. Paired with an excellent 🇬🇪 ‘Petnat’ ✨Highly recommend, despite the dubious eating tongs.. Fingers only✌🏼

Putting Sighnaghi even more on the map, the new(ish) is just the ticket to forget the horrors of this world for a day or two.. Dreamiest of spas, views, and cocktails, with design led interiors, a tea room and delicious Georgian fare, it’s the perfect weekend away. And for those with helicopters, you can obviously land on the roof. ❤️🇬🇪 (1st pic not mine)

Beautiful made by Azerbaijani craftswomen in the village of Kosolar just south of Tbilisi. This little one with the tree of life and camels 🌲 🐪. is a brilliant initiative that aims to ‘revive rug weaving’s lost beauty and inspire a new generation to continue its legacy’ 💫

Protesters continue to rally in Tbilisi and across the country for the sixth consecutive night following the Government’s announcement that it was suspending talks on EU membership. Fireworks are lobbed into Parliament as riot police retaliate with water canon, then tear gas and pepper spray as the night wears on. Democracy versus Putinism.. Morning light at the 12th century cave monastery site of Vardzia in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region of Georgia. Once an important cultural centre, the city housed up to 12,000 monks - now only 5 monks live in the mountain today. Queen Tamar the Great, 🇬🇪’s first female ruler👸 finished construction creating a hidden underground sanctuary against invaders, with a secret tunnel that led under the banks of the Mtkvari river.
