New year, new adventures, and a bunch of new travel goals!

Goal #1 - I’m making more time for business travel. Starting off strong the beginning of January when I'm traveling to Cancun to be with my corporate incentive group to ensure everything runs smoothly. Back to Cancun 3 weeks later to join The Scoop Society Wellness Retreat! Katie and I have been planning this for the better part of a year and I can't wait to be there to experience the retreat as a guest, while also being the travel ambassador for all of our guests.

Goal #2 - I’d like to check one big thing off my travel wish list and experience a new destination. Right now I’m debating between Costa Rica and Scotland (and trying to decide what month I can fit this type of trip in!)

Goal #3 - I'm going to focus on setting aside a scheduled admin day each week, where I work IN my business. Making sure I am up to date on 2025 destination trainings, software program changes for my group clients, and mastering email marketing.

Right now I feel like I should create a vision board for all of these things 😜

It's Small Business Saturday and I have some thoughts (that I should probably keep to myself). But it's been a long holiday weekend, so ya know what...

Over the years I have heard "How's your little business going?" and, "Are you still doing that travel thing?"
I politely smile and say it's going well, and yes, I am still doing "that travel thing" because it's my career and my livelihood.

The truth is, I do run a small business. But to me, it is anything but "little".
I am a solopreneur who runs everything by myself. There is no marketing person, no sales team, no admin to handle all the backend boring stuff. Just a one woman show here, friends!

I started in this industry working for someone else. I worked my tail off the first year learning everything I could about what it means to be a travel advisor and how to grow my client base. That first year I made almost no money. I thought about throwing in the towel so many times. But there was that passion in my gut and I just couldn't let go. I have loved this job from the moment I found it.

They say if you love your job you'll never work a day in your life. I am one of the few who actually feel that way. I get excited about getting into my office, meeting new clients, planning awesome trips, expanding my portfolio. All of it.
Of course there are bad days, but the good far exceeds the bad.
My passion has only grown over the years.

Being a small business I know I am competing against billion dollar agencies. The big companies who have the fancy offices and the sales teams and a massive budget to spend on their business each year. If I let myself think about it to much, I get really intimidated by those "big guys".
Then I remember that YOU are here. Reading this post. Supporting my small travel agency.
That I have continued to build and grow a successful business over the years. All thanks to you.

If you are reading this, you do support a small business. You help me pay for my kids activities, put food on my table, and live a comfortable life. I may not have a billion dollar agency (yet), but I know we are just getting started.

I recently planned a trip for my client who will be heading off to Spain and Portugal next Spring.

But this was not my typical European booking. This one is special because it is for someone traveling internationally for the first time, and traveling solo.
Can I just get a round of applause for her?! Because making the choice to travel solo to Europe for the first time is not for the faint of heart. I am SO PROUD of her for getting out of her comfort zone! It's going to be an amazing experience.

Because she's never been to Europe she wasn't exactly sure where she wanted to go. We had an in depth call about her travel preferences and what she's really hoping to get out of this trip.
Because she wanted to visit 2 countries (while keeping travel simple) and experience the culture, cuisine, architect and history in a big city, she's starting off in Barcelona.
From there she will head to Faro, Portugal for some beach time because being near a beach was important to her. The cave pictured above is Benagil Cave in Faro, where she will be doing a small group paddle boarding tour. She was super excited about that recommendation!
After a few relaxing days at the beach, she'll take the train to Lisbon to experience the culture, cuisine, architecture, and history of Lisbon!

We ensure our clients safety and comfort as much as possible.

🌟 Highlights from Paris and Lyon

Sharing a few details of the 9 day trip my clients just completed!
Fun fact: these clients traveled to Europe 2 years ago and had a short stay in Paris as a stop over. She had NO desire to spend any time in Paris (which was devastating to me!)
Turns out, 24 hours was not enough and she loved the city.
Fast forward to now and all she wanted was to explore more of France, and spend more time in Paris 🥰

They spent 4 nights in Paris, 4 nights in Lyon
🏨 Boutique hotels in great locations
🏯 Several museum visits and tours
🥐 Food tours- both on land and on a river cruise
🍷 Vineyard tour in Beaujolais
