An appreciation post for my girl, Katie.
My client who became a friend and after spending a week together in Mexico for her retreat now feels like someone I’m connected to forever. A soul sister, if you will.
I wasn’t supposed to be an attendee on the retreat. I was hired to plan the travel portion and that was that, just another job.
But unexpected things happened and I really wanted to be there to see it all unfold.
I know now I was meant to be there. To meet Katie in person and experience the retreat like the other attendees. I never would have known just how much Katie put into this if I wasn’t there myself to see it first hand.
Katie worked on this for months (long, stress filled months) She planned every detail from the moment we woke up, to the moment we called it a night. She planned meditation sessions, prompted journal sessions, vision board sessions, a welcome and closing ceremony, and multiple daily workouts and movement exercises.
She changed the order and operation countless times to ensure it was right. She met all the women where they were at to make sure everything was working for them. She encouraged us to be vulnerable, truthful, and brave to get the most out of our time there.
She made us see the best in ourselves and made us all feel safe and loved.
She had us crying and laughing multiple times every day.
While it’s so fun to see all the pretty pictures, what you don’t see is the tears and stress that went into planning. Katie made it all look so easy and simple, and I can assure it was not.
We kept saying “can you believe we are here?!” once we were on site.
But all the stress was for nothing, because she put on the most incredible retreat I could have ever imagined.
Katie, you freaking did it. First retreat in the books, and many more to come.
I’m so grateful to be on this wild ride with you. 💙
