In April Through the Caribbean started the celebration of the Endemic Bird Festival. The Caribbean Endemic Bird Festival is a month long festival hosted by different organizations along the islands.
Puerto Rico been a small archipelago is not in short supply of endemics. The Puerto Rican Tanager it's not related to any other tanager in the Caribbean, making it a endemic monotypic family.
