Many people are starting to plan their travel plans . . . the future is getting brighter! Here is my reason #27 why you should consider a travel agent when you plan on booking your travel: We alleviate the stress that can be associated with trip planning. By using a travel agent, you can remain stress free. We take on the trip planning and all its details. Do you know that there are stress management companies that teach people how techniques to de-stress when trying to plan a trip? There are websites that center around tips to help people de-escalate their stress while trip planning. The simplest solution . . . use a travel agent. Why put yourself through this stress when an agent can do all your planning? We can help a client through the entire process. We offer advice on packing, transportation, and so much more. Travel . . . now is a GREAT time to start booking your 2021 and/or 2022 trips. Here is my reason #26 to use a travel agent . . . like me! We don’t offer cookie cutter trips. Travel agents work with clients to prepare itineraries that match exactly what they want. Unless a client wants a pre-determined itinerary, we don’t offer cookie cutter itineraries; rather, we listen to our clients and create itineraries that matches what they want. On consumer websites, it is nearly impossible to create a personalized trip exactly as a client may want. However, travel agents can do this and do this all the time. Thinking about traveling . . . here is my reason #25 as to why you should use a travel agent: 25. This is our job. Trust us! Travel research is our job. We are here to serve our clients, and it is our responsibility to help our clients with fidelity, dignity, and trust. People have hairdressers to cut and color their hair, although technically it can be done by oneself. People hire landscapers and snowplow services to maintain yards, although technically it can be done by oneself. People hire house cleaners, although technically it can be done by oneself. People hire wedding planners, although technically it can be done by oneself. People hire investment managers, although technically it can be done by oneself. Why does someone not enlist a travel agent when planning a trip? A travel agent is the expert in the field. A travel agent is working for the client. It is our job, and clients need us, even though technically they can book a trip on their own. We are the specialists in the field. My reason #20 to use a travel agent . . .When there is a travel situation, we are working on your behalf. We are your advocate. During such times such as the unpreceded pandemic, many clients were unable to contact consumer sites to get refunds and/or vouchers if applicable or even to find out what their options were. Many consumer sites and airlines closed their phonelines. I know people who still never got a promised voucher or refund. However, our clients spoke to us and not an automated message or just got a busy signal when they called. We were working tirelessly with our providers to get our clients' situations handled professionally, making sure their promised vouchers and refunds were provided timely. Or, we explained different options they have in unforeseen situations. We are knowledgeable about different situations, and we are consistently updating our clients. We do not book hotels, resorts, cruises, etc. from unvetted providers. We work ONLY with the best providers, many of which are for travel professionals only. Your happiness is our happiness, and your frustration is our frustration. Therefore, we are working for you and with you. The client is not alone in these situations, and their travel situation becomes the agent’s utmost priority. We are here to help the client have a positive traveling experience. So many great reasons to use a travel agent. Need another one? Here is my reason #19: You may not realize the importance of trip insurance. Oftentimes, when a travelers book their own vacation, they may forgo travel insurance because it is just another cost. Or, they do not have the option to include insurance. However, when working with an agent, it is a cost that is embedded within the final total. Although it can be removed, we know that life happens (such as an unprecedented pandemic), and we want our clients to be assured that in the unlikely event they need to cancel or modify their trip. We all purchase car and home owners’ insurance, hoping we don’t need to use it. But, when we do need it, we are happy we have it. With travel insurance, it is the same peace of mind, and your travel agent knows this. Just another reason why travel agents are always looking out for our clients. I have been giving my top reasons as to WHY you should use a travel agent when booking travel. Here is my reason #17: Travel agents are experienced travelers. We do not only have a passion for travel, but we also have a unique expertise in the field. Most agents are experts in certain areas, such as Disney or Europe. We have travel tips that are from personal experience. We come from a plethora of travel experience, which we use to offer advice and planning tips to our clients. We have previous experience, whether our own, our colleagues, or our clients, that can help YOU, the client, feel more confident and comfortable in your vacation. As our current situation betters, how about considering travel this year or even next? Many people learned from the pandemic the benefit in using a travel agent. Need a reason . . . here is my reason #16: Travel agents have continuous training opportunities and must keep up-to-date with our training. We must continuously complete different training modules in order to remain current in the industry. We have access to different trainings to learn about new changes from a provider or in the industry. My reason #14 to use a travel agent . . . Travel perks. Since our company is affiliated with different travel providers, we may be able to offer travel perks that consumer sites cannot. For example, we may be able to offer a complimentary bottle of wine in your room or a complimentary breakfast. Do you have travel on your mind . . . need another reason to book with an agent . . . here is my reason #11: We have access to multiple sites and databases that offer more options than consumer sites. Travel agents have access to databases that are only for travel agents. We use providers, travel agent sites, and different databases that are kept elite because they are not consumer sites. Rather, they are for professional travel agents in the business. Therefore, clients can be assured that we are working with professional providers, reputable companies, and the best in the business. Anyone can sell a vacation on the internet, but how do you know you will be safe or not being scammed? By booking with an agent, clients have piece of mind that what we offer is what they get. Need a 7th reason why booking with a travel agent is a good idea . . . We can suggest the best times to book a flight.
The age-old question . . . when should I book the flight? Although flights vary price daily if not hourly, based on our experience, we can suggest the “sweet spot” to book a flight. Although flights are unpredictable, we can use past trends and our expertise to better gauge when a good flight price is. We are professionals in our business. The last few days, I have been promoting why to use a travel agent when booking travel. Here is my reason #5: We are professionals.
My mother always says that we are not plumbers just because we flush the toilet. I love that saying because just because we can go on a consumer website to book a trip, it does not mean you are a travel agent. When doing your own legwork, you are at fault if you misspell your name, accidently book the wrong dates, or need to change your itinerary. By using a travel agent, you are getting expert service. We are trained and experts in our field. We double, triple, and quadruple check that your trip is booked with accuracy. Also, if there needs to be a change, we can better help you do this. Providers are more willing to work with us and make changes to your itinerary that may have costed you a lot of money in the end. Trust your agent. We are experts in our field.
