The Mannerist master Federico Zuccari is most famous for having painted (with assistants) most of the dome âfrescoesâ (he actually pained in secco on dry plaster) in Florenceâs Duomo (Vasari did the bits at the very top before he died). Zuccari also had a wicked cool house in Rome, which he shared with his brother and fellow painter Taddeo and which has monstrous door and window frames much like these images, near the top of the Spanish Steps.
