MAUI: In 2023 Outrigger bought Ka’anapali Beach Hotel. They are continuing to renovate rooms but still have the same genuine Hawaiian hospitality that KBH has always had! You are always greeted with an ‘Aloha’ from all of the employees and feel like family. It is a beautiful, quaint property that is within walking distance to many restaurants and shops.

🌺Guests of all ages are invited to participate in complimentary daily Hawaiian cultural activities! We participated in the lei making and had so much fun learning about the Hawaiian culture. Additional classes include learning the hula, stamping art, Hawaiian fiber art, and many others! Reservations are required at least 1 hour prior to the class so they can prepare the materials.

🌺Prior to departure, you are invited to the lei kukui ceremony where you are gifted with a kukui nut lei and learn about the significance of the lei. It is a very cool experience to top of your wonderful vacation on Maui and at Ka’anapali Beach Resort.

MAUI: There are lots of dinner options on the beach in Ka’anapali! Most (if not all) have happy hour specials before dinner. I highly suggest booking reservations the morning of or a day early so you don’t have to wait. We found most restaurants are on the Open Table app to make reservations!!

🐳Whalers Village has Hula Grill, MonkeyPod Kitchen, and Leilani’s on the Beach. We ate at Leilani’s this trip and it was fantastic…a little pricey but one of the best meals we’ve had! And of course we had to treat ourselves to a Hula Pie!

🍺Maui Brewering Company is right on the beach at Outrigger Ka’anapali Beach Hotel.

🍍Another personal favorite north of Black Rock is Duke’s Beach House at the Honua Kai resort.

There are so many dining options on Maui, but these are just a few that are within walking distance from any resort on the Ka’anapali beach with beautiful ocean views!

MAUI Tip: either pack a small cooler or buy a cooler as a souvenir (we got ours from Maui Brewing Company). It’s perfect to take some drinks to the pool, beach, or on the Road to Hana! Either stop at Walmart or Safeway for beverages and fill up with ice at your hotel!

MAUI: most restaurants on the island have happy hour with food and drink specials. Coco Deck in Lahaina has $5 fish tacos and $5 margaritas!! You can’t beat this great deal plus a great view of the ocean!! 🌊 🌮🧉

Visiting Upcountry in Maui is a great day trip to explore more of the island other than the beaches. A few of our favorite places are:

🍍Maui Gold Pineapple Tour—great tour which includes pineapple that you can take home
🥃Hali'imaile Distillery Tour & Tasting Room—location where you check in for the pineapple tour at…try a few spirits while you’re there!
🩵Ocean Vodka—tours available or just enjoy the scenery with a cocktail or food from their cafe.
💜 Ali'i Kula Lavender Farm—walk through the property that grows 45 varieties of lavender. Beautiful scenery!
🐐 Surfing Goat Dairy—great place if you enjoy goat cheese!
🍷Maui Wine—have a tasting and enjoy the beautiful vineyard

Today we just explored the Ocean Vodka and Haliimaile distillery in Upcountry!

🚨PSA: if you go to Maui, expect to be up at 3:30am…6hr time change is rough! Walk down to Whalers Village and stop at Island Vintage Coffee. They open at 6:30am for the early bird east coasters! Delicious coffee, breakfast sandwiches and açaí bowls! A little pricey, but well worth it! 🌴☀️🥯🍓☕️
