For the very first time Expats & Locals is putting on a Local Meetup!
Over the years many of you have contributed a lot to this group and a lot of good things have come from it because of your participation, so to start off, a big Thank You for that!!
Ever since this groups inception it has flourished on a few basic principles.. keep it positive and friendly, keep posts community-related, keep spam to a minimum, and a 0 tolerance policy for haters. In a nutshell that's basically it, and while there is always room for improvement, these simple concepts have created this virtual space where we all have been able to connect, bond, and grow as a community.
Which is why we've decided to host this meetup!
We're not quite sure yet how frequent they will be, but we'd like to take this virtual space and apply it to the real world.
This meetup is for Everyone & Anyone, whether you're a Digital Nomad or Retiree, Small Business Owner or Backpacker, Expat.. or Local.
We invite you out to Chiang Mai's newest evening addition.. Madame Koh's, who's kindly agreed to host us for an evening of happiness and just hanging out.
There's no agenda and this is a simple meet and greet and a great opportunity for us all to put some faces to names in the real world, the place some people tend to refer to as "society"
For all of you introverts with social anxiety and for those of you who don't want to stay out too late, no stress come and go as you please.. but it would be great if you can even make it out for a little bit even if it's to say 'hey'
You'd think I wouldn't have to say this, but this event is for people who are coming with a good attitude and are out to make some friends and just have a chat. We aim to keep this light-hearted and isn't meant to be a big booze party, but with that said Madame Koh's does have some pretty mean food and drinks, so a few won't hurt!
There's a 200 baht entry for the meetup (220 after tax) and that gets you through the door along with 2 drinks .. we also have some shirts leftover from our first order so the first 20 people to purchase a ticket also get a free Expats & Locals t-shirt.
We have some big announcements in 2024 that we're really looking forwards to and those of you coming will get the inside scoop.
Lastly, I'd like to take this time to thank Marike Van Breugel who you all may be familiar with by this point who's made a massive effort this past year Admining the group and is doing an excellent job!
She and I , Travis Clark, look forwards to meeting and seeing you all soon!
