The 3-1-1 Liquids Rule requires that passengers do not surpass 100 milliliters (3.4 ounces) in liquids in carry on luggage when traveling through airport security. But, those days may be long gone in the UK, with newly implemented CT scanning technology making it easier than ever for security to clear baggage. UK travelers at participating airports can now carry up to two litres (about half a gallon) of liquid in their carry on luggage and leave laptops and other electronic devices in their bags. In the US, TSA has committed over $1.3 billion to the installation of CT baggage scanners across the nation’s airports. This means that travelers within the US can expect to see changes in the way they go through airport security in the coming future as well! We’re back with your latest travel update! ✈ In an attempt to curb overtourism, Venice is launching a pilot entry fee program in 2024.

With this program, day visitors over the age of 14 will have to pay a 5-euro fee to enter the ancient city.

To pay the fee, visitors must log in to the City of Venice’s website to access a QR code which will grant them entry. Exempt persons include residents, students, and overnight tourists.
However, keep in mind that if you are an overnight guest in the city you must be registered via a portal on the City of Venice website.

Looking for an EU stamp on your passport? That might be hard to come by in autumn.

Here are the key details you need to know about the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), an automated IT system for registering travelers from non-EU countries whenever they cross into the border-free Schengen Area.

Non-Schengen nationals can expect:

- Use of self-service kiosks that require passengers to scan their passport and data

- Fingerprints and facial images taken the first time they cross a border into the EU or Schengen Area

- Automated registration of the passenger’s name, type of travel document, biometric data (ie fingerprints and captured facial images) and the date and place of entry and exit

The system will apply when entering the border-free Schengen Area, along with most EU Member States. This change will pair with another centralized information system launching operation in 2025 called the ETIAS which will be a travel authorization that any non-EU nationals must apply to before arriving to EU nations.
