ts a different activity every Sunday, and serves Dade, Broward, and the Palm Beaches. Our activities include a wide variety of traditional outdoor activities, including team sports, water sports, individual sports in a group setting and much more. Additionally, many of our activities include philanthropic, environmental awareness, social and/or educational components. Even if an activity isn't close to home, give it a try. Half the fun is getting there, and it's a great way to explore some new areas. Our club is open to Jewish singles, couples and families. Participating with Mosaic allows people to meet and enjoy outdoor activities with other like-minded people. Participation is only limited by your ability, not age. People of all experience levels are welcome to participate in our events. When possible, instruction will be provided in order to make the events safer and more enjoyable. Through the years as our club has provided activities for like-mined Jewish adventurers, it has been the gathering place that has led to over 33 couples meeting and getting married. Many of these families still attend Mosaic events, but we still focus primarily on events for Jewish singles to meet through exploring nature and having fun in the great outdoors. Learn more about Mosaic by clicking on the links to the left. Better yet, come out and join us for one of our next events. We look forward to meeting you soon!

Saturday night, nearly eight decades after the death factories were closed, someone — more likely a gang of someones — toppled about 100 headstones at a Jewish cemetery in Philadelphia. The same thing happened last week in St. Louis.

Dear Mosaic Members and Friends:

It is with mixed emotions that I announce to you the closing and dissolution of Mosaic Outdoor Club of S. Florida. The club that I founded in 1993 has closed its doors.

Our Mosaic club thrived many years, spawning well over 33 marriages and almost as many kids from these marriages. Over the years we have made lots of good friends, and many of us still keep in touch on a regular basis.

However, recently, times have changed, and the desire to be part of a club seems to have been overtaken by the ready availability of events posted online. Few people want to volunteer any more. We have been able to succeed with most of our events, drawing substantial crowds, but only with a lot of effort on the part of the few volunteers who remained dedicated.

As such, the Board of Directors agreed that Mosaic had run its course, and that the time has come to cease operations. What little money we have left in our bank account is being donated to several 501 (c) 3 charities, and most of our equipment will be donated to a needy cub scout pack.

If you joined Mosaic recently (in the last six months), you may request a prorated portion of your dues be returned to you, rather than being donated. Simply reply to this email by August 19 with your request, along with your full name and mailing address.

I want to thank each of you for your contributions of time and effort through the years, and for just being part of Mosaic. We hope that all our members will maintain any sense of adventure that was instilled in you by Mosaic, and that you will continue to explore the natural world around you.

Walk Softly,

Rick Dronsky

We also enjoy a once a year opportunity to participate in the annual Jewish Outdoor Escape (JOE). The Mosaic's Jewish Outdoor Escape happens every year during an extended Labor Day Weekend. It gives Jewish outdoor enthusiasts from all over the world the opportunity to spend time with each other in a Jewish setting, and enjoy out-of-doors activities. We stay at a summer camp and the activities vary each year depending on the locale. Over 100 like-minded Jewish adventurers attend this event each year. The experience will typically include hiking, kayaking, biking, nature walks, horseback riding, arts & crafts, dancing, workshops, swimming, campfires, field games, photography, swimming and some great surprises! Our club is open to Jewish singles, couples and families. Participating with Mosaic allows people to meet and enjoy outdoor activities with other like-minded people.
