Where is Algarve and why go?

Algarve is the south coast of Portugal and until now it was necessary to take your own kayak if you wanted to sea kayak the coast. This coast is really world class kayaking with long sandy beaches interspersed with 200 meter cliffs, sea stacks and caves. For 10 years we have been running paddling tours of the Douro River in the north of Portugal and our clients were asking for a bit of ocean kayaking so we decided to organize the Algarve tours in the month of October. In October the water is still warm and the great numbers of Algarve tourists have left. It’s a wonderful time of the year in this area.
