Views from the Cordillera Huayhuash circuit, an eight-day alpine trek filled with glacial lakes, mountain peaks, and encounters with traditional Andean culture. 🏔
Tip: The safest way to complete this challenging hike is to book a guided tour with one of the many local providers in the region. It’s possible to do the trek on your own but only if you have experience hiking in high altitude, adequate equipment, lots of food, and a solid command of Spanish or Quechua, the local language.

We’ll gladly swap our morning shower for Kvernufoss, a 98-foot-high waterfall tucked away in a gorge in South Iceland. Located to the east of the popular Skógafoss waterfall, this green jewel was once overlooked by travelers but is slowly becoming more popular—one more reason to practice “leave no trace” on our travels! 💚

Good things come to those who wait—at least in the case of Wat Samphran in Bangkok. The design for this bright pink temple wrapped in a dragon came to the owner at the end of a seven-day fasting meditation. Fun fact: the structure is 80 meters tall to honor the number of years that Buddha lived.

What’s better than giraffe kisses? Not much—except maybe the story behind Kenya’s unique the Giraffe Manor. 🦒 50 years ago, the family that owned this property learned that the only remaining Rothschild giraffes in Kenya were on the brink of extinction. They agreed to rescue one giraffe, a 450-pound baby they named Daisy, which soon led to the hotel supporting a program to reintroduce breeding pairs back into the wild and secure the future of the subspecies. 💪 There are currently eight giraffes that visit the manor daily, often poking their heads into the windows in the hope of getting a treat, before returning to their forest sanctuary. 🌳

Aptly nicknamed the “stairway to heaven”, Austria’s 40-meter-long Sky Ladder is ideal for anyone craving a white-knuckle adventure. The ladder bridges a gorge along the Donnerkogel via ferrata, a tough trail that rewards climbers with scenic views of the Inner Salzkammergut region. 🏔✨

Heading into a new week like... 🚐 🙌
Affectionately referred to as “Watermelon Avenue”, South Australia’s Cactus Beach looks like something out of a sci-fi film.
On the right is Lake McDonnell, which gets its vibrant pink hue from its high levels of salt and algae, and on the left is the deep blue Indian Ocean. Not pictured is the world class surf break and a campsite just down the road. Would you add this spot to your Australia road trip?

In the Faroe Islands, “accessible nature” knows no bounds. 💚 Case in point: Múlafossur Waterfall is only a two-mile hike or 15-minute drive away from the Vagar Island airport. Please excuse us while we head here—luggage in tow—right after landing. ✈️

Two eagle hunters—brother and sister—captured in Mongolia by ATLIST Scout . Traditional falconry thrives in the country’s western highlands, where a small group of nomads still practice the ancient art of hunting with eagles, and occasionally, welcome travelers into their homes.

This week, the Lantern Festival is lighting up Chiang Mai, Thailand!

Celebrated on the full moon of November every year, the festival includes a ceremony where thousands of paper lanterns are released to signify a fresh start. 🎇 One of the most popular places to witness the big release after sunset is the Mae Jo University. This is a Buddhist ceremony, so remember to wear appropriate clothing (no shorts or exposed shoulders) out of respect for the locals. 🕯

“We had an eye-opening experience while volunteering for a week at the Elephant Nature Park, a sanctuary and rescue center for elephants in Northern Thailand. Founder Lek Chailert opened the site in the 1990s as a way to protect the country’s endangered, mistreated, and abandoned animals. Today, it’s home to dozens of elephants, orphaned cats, dogs, and buffalos. During our time here, we mainly helped with food prep and cleaning, but also bonded with the elephants. I’ll never forget the moment I locked eyes with one of them and realized the importance of giving these beautiful creatures a safe home.”

“The Hotel Pulitzer Amsterdam is constructed out of 25 restored historic canal houses from the 17th and 18th centuries, but inside, it’s modern and luxurious. We felt like we’d stepped back into the opulent Amsterdam of yesterday, with velvet lounge seating and a spacious interior. The bed in our two-story room faced the canals, which were an absolute delight to wake up to every morning. During the day, we relaxed with coffee, books, and board games in the cozy main lobby and other chill-out areas scattered around the hotel.” - ATLIST Curator @ Pulitzer Amsterdam
