Reading Retreats Reading Retreats in Rural Italy is a non-profit cultural association located at Corte Eremo,Curtatone, Mantova. Art, music, books, parties, food, fun!

After the earthquakes in northern Italy (May of 2012), Clark Lawrence, founding president of Reading Retrats in Rural Italy, moved six thousand books, over 1,000 plants, 200 paintings and his seven dwarf goats from the Castle of Galeazza (Crevalcore, Bologna) to a new location, Corte Eremo, just five kilometres from the centre of Mantova. The association hosts reading retreats, concerts, parties,

theatrical productions, book presentations, language, art and gardening courses, continuing the same activity that began in Palazzo Montefano in 1996, through the "castle years" (2003-2012) and into the future. We have a new and exciting location, so close to the celebrated but not so-well-known art and architecture of Mantova.
