Epic Freeride in Gudauri Georgia

Gudauri – young and rapid developing winter sports resort located at Kazbegi region of Georgia, 120 km from Tbilisi, at the height of 2,196 m (about 7,200 feet) near the Cross Pass. Skiing season lasts from December to April, comfort skiing on all routes. In May skiing is possible on the five (highest) lift or even on the second lift in snow years.

Heli Ski is available throughout the season! A unique challenge for all!

Routes and lifts:The lower lift station is at 1,990 m (6,500 feet), and the top station is at 3,007 m (9,860 feet !).


First ski-lift 1053 metres long- three chairs (Night skiing+ snow guns)
Second ski-lift 2295 metres long- high speed chairlift, four chairs
Third- 1063 metres long -three chairs (to Kudebi)
Forth- three chairs, 1104metres
Fifth -four chairs, 1504metres (to Sadzele)

Gondola lift (monocable circulating ropeway) - 2800 metres long, for 8 pers.

New training slope with Doppelmayer J-bar- 600 metres long.

Gudauri has 50 km of marked and prepared routes suitable for pro-riders and beginners. They had 22 routes in 2012 (source). 20% professional routes 80% - riders routs.

Cable railway operates from 10 to 16 for any number of skiers on routes. Cable railway may be closed in rare occasions of very low visibility or high wind. Cable railway is equipped with standby power generator for blackout protection.

In Gudauri: The ski lift is free for children from 0 to 6. The Wi-Fi is free for everyone. Insurance is no longer included in the ski pass. It's possible to pay by debit\credit card in any cash-desk.
For/With the lost things the tourists should go to the cash desks.

Hotel Marco Polo Gudauri

The rooms at Hotel Gudauri are decorated in neutral colours, and come with a minibar and a work desk. Bathrobes and toiletries are provided in the private bathroom.

A variety of European and Caucasian specialities are served in the classic-style restaurant, and the cosy bar features a fireplace. Evening entertainment is offered in the Gudauri Night Bar until 03:00.

Ushba is one of the most notable peaks of the Caucasus Mountains. It is located in the Svaneti region of Georgia, just south of the border with the Kabardino-Balkaria region of Russia. Although it does not rank in the 10 highest peaks of the range, Ushba is known as the "Matterhorn of the Caucasus" for its picturesque, spire-shaped double summit. Due to its steep profile and unstable weathe, Ushba is considered by many climbers as the most difficult ascent in the Caucasus.

Khachapuri is a filled bread dish from Georgia. The bread is leavened and allowed to rise, and is shaped in various ways. The filling contains cheese (fresh or aged, most commonly suluguni), eggs and other ingredients.
There are several distinctive types of khachapuri in Georgian food from different regions of Georgia:
Imeretian (Imeruli) khachapuri, which is circular and probably the most common type.
Adjarian (Acharuli/Adjaruli) khachapuri, in which the dough is formed into an open boat shape and the hot pie is topped with a raw egg and a pat of butter before serving
Mingrelian (Megruli) khachapuri, similar to Imeritian but with more cheese added on top
Abkhazian (Achma) khachapuri, which has multiple layers and looks more like a sauceless lasagna
Ossetian (Ossuri) khachapuri, which has potato as well as cheese in its filling

From summer of 2011 new transportation started to function in Batumi that is bicycle transport named "Batumvelo" which is under responsibility of "Batumi Avtotransporti" Ltd. Riding bicycle is possible in the city on special bicycle tracks. There are 8 terminals from which bicycles can be taken in seaside line of old and new boulevard.
Using bicycle is available by special cards. Registration of the cards can be made in tourist information center on the territory of Old Boulevard.
