This neon once graced our town at the Trav-O-Tel Motel in Tucumcari. We are trying to get it back home. Any and all donations will go to buying this neon, getting it shipped and having it restored. This is a great opportunity to be a part of the revitalization efforts around Tucumcari. Anything above the amount raised will be put into the Tucumcari Lights Grant Program. This is a great way for people far and wide to get involved with the continued restoration of Tucumcari! Great things on the horizon!

Thank you, travelers, for rating us so highly, sharing your reviews, and saving our link on Tripadvisor. Roadrunner Lodge Motel has just completed our 6th year in business. In July of 2014, we opened with ONLY TWO ROOMS ready for travelers and soon after 5 rooms total were opened by the end of that year. In 2015 we added 10 more. And it wasn't until May 27, 2016 that we offered our first of 3 Snazzy 60s, over-the-top, 1960s experience rooms. We currently have 20 rooms available for our guests (though occupancy is presently limited by the state), and we have BIG SURPRISES for when business soon returns to normal.

WE ARE EXCITED to finally announce a new initiative to help bolster tourism right here in Tucumcari.

TUCUMCARI'S TALKING TOUR

We have one of the greatest stops along Route 66 and people come from around the world just to drive the Route. They stay in our glorious motels, shop for curios and snap picture after picture of our neon signs and incredible murals. We wanted to help bring something new and exciting to the community and travelers alike by providing a fun and informative way for folks to learn more about our community, from its railroad history to ranching and farming to our very own stretch of the historic Route 66.

STARTING THIS MAY, you will be able to tune in to your AM radio station at any one of more than a dozen establishments, buildings and murals to learn more about it. The radio station will be announced at launch so stay tuned!

We will share with you all our progress right here at Tucumcari's Route 66 as we get closer and closer to 'going live'.

Hell or High Water was filmed in and around Tucumcari. It was released in 2016 starring Chris Pine, Ben Foster, Jeff Bridges and Gil Birmingham. It was nominated for 4 Academy Awards including Best Motion Picture, Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Best Screenplay and Best Film Editing.
