No tricks here, because we’re doling out five new treats — plus returning favorites — for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in 2024! It’s time to kick off the festivities with a Halfway to Halloween celebration, and we’re conjuring up more spooky spectacles at this separately-ticketed event.

This year’s event kicks off Aug. 9 and will take place on select nights through Oct. 31 at Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort. Tickets go on sale for guests staying at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, and Shades of Green on May 8. For all other guests, tickets will go on sale May 15.

Today let's explore the WDW Moderate Resorts!

Disney’s moderate hotels are resorts that bridge the price and style gap between the value and deluxe resorts. There are five moderate resorts at Walt Disney World: Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs, Port Orleans French Quarter, Port Orleans Riverside and Cabins at Ft. Wilderness Campground. Pricing starts around $260/night depending on season.

Disney moderate resorts (with a few exceptions) have “motel-style” doors—facing outside with no inside hallways. The Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs is "hotel-style" with interior hallways.

Also like the value resorts, each has a food court and all but one of the moderate resorts has at least one table service restaurant.

Port Orleans Riverside, Caribbean Beach, and Coronado Springs are all serviced by buses that make multiple stops. Port Orleans French Quarter is the smallest resort and only has one stop. Caribbean Beach also is the hub of the Disney SkyLiner with service to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, making it the most popular choice among the group.

Moderates have rooms with two queens beds, though there are king bed rooms and some 5th sleeper rooms for larger families at Caribbean Beach and Port Orleans Riverside.
