Ever seen a farrier at work? That's the person who trims a horse's hooves and may also tack on shoes. Think of him or her as a manicurist with large tools, a strong back, and an anvil. If you stay on a farm or ranch with horses, you just might get to watch. Thank you First Farm Inn Bed and Breakfast for showing us how it's done...no matter the temperature!

Even though temperatures are below freezing, horses need regular care -- daily attention, feed and. hoof trimming.
