Farm "therapy" comes in all forms: fresh air, nature...and on some farms you might find 'cuddling' offered. We could all use a good cuddle these days.

Livestock cuddling is a thing that has therapeutic benefits and some farm stays have friendly animals that like to be cuddled.

In Vermont’s Upper Valley, new farm stays, general stores, and restaurants are putting a fresh spin on small-town life.

Saffron is derived from the orange-red stigmas and styles on the Crocus sativus flower.

The delicate threads are harvested from each flower by hand. This extra labor makes it one of the most expensive spices in the world.

Hobby Hill Farm grows saffron and raises chickens, pastured pigs and hosts guests in a renovated, off-grid stone cottage in the forest built in 1942. A quaint, on-grid studio apartment is also available.

Visit during Vermont Open Farm Week to learn more about saffron and meet the animals on 8/8-8/12, inquire for times.
