World's largest cruise company finalizes agreement with Meyer Werft for
new world-class cruise ship scheduled for delivery in 2027

MIAMI, Feb. 13, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- Carnival Corporation & plc (NYSE/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK), the world's largest cruise company, today announced it has signed an agreement with leading German shipbuilder Meyer Werft to build a fourth Excel-class cruise ship for its namesake Carnival Cruise Line brand. The ship, the 10th Excel-class ship in the corporation's fleet across four of its world-class brands, is expected to enter service in Spring 2027.

Carnival used to operate its own airline! From 1989 to 1998, Carnival Air Lines operated flights from the Northeastern US to Florida and the Caribbean. Pan Am bought the airline in September of 1997, but filed for bankruptcy before the two airlines could fully merge.

Also, we're rapidly approaching what is known as "Wave Season" in the travel industry. This is the period from January to March when cruise lines tend to put out their best deals of the year. If you're at all interested in booking a cruise (booking as far out as Sep 2026 for some lines), now is a great time to start planning with me to make sure you don't miss any of these upcoming sweet deals! Booking early lets you lock in prices before they go up, gives you longer to pay off the trip, and gives you the best selection of cabins in prime locations on the ship.
