Start of 6 days of touring today with Patricio, Melody and Son Gustav from Paris .Today we visited the Cotswolds and here they are pictured outside the Porch House Inn,Stow-on-the-Wold reputedly the oldest in the country dating from 947 AD!

First tour of 2025 ,with Michel from Pennsylvania USA,who first toured with us in 2018. Today we visited the fantastic Story of Emily museum at St Ive,near Callington. It is quite simply astonishing..a world class museum telling the story of Emily Hobhouse, the vicars daughter who campaigned for the rights of women in South Africa during the second Boer War. Michel stated that she had never seen anything comparable anywhere..she was simply blown away by the immersive experience in the war room. I would urge everyone to pay it a visit

Out of season is a great time to explore Cornwalls hidden gems. The Roseland Peninsula is well known because of St Mawes , nearby is lesser known and visited ,but nevertheless well worth exploring . The Gorgeous church set in a tropical garden at St Just-in-Roseland surely must be one of the most beautiful in the County.
At nearby Portcurnick beach, The hidden hut beach cafe is a gem..see how many locals were here in January! .The food was good enough to serve to the G7 World Leaders conference when it was in Cornwall!
Other fantastic places to visit include Portloe, Veryan and learning to make pasties at the Philleigh Way cookery school !

Good to attend the Cornwall Tourism summit this week, with some excellent speakers and good networking opportunities. Plenty of food for thought ,though also encouraging to learn that personalised private Tourism experiences are a growing Tourism market.Happy with that!

This year we continued to support in their quest to establish new woodlands across the County .This is achieved not just by tree planting,but also with a programme of ongoing maintenance and support to give these newly forested areas the best chance of survival. We donated for every day of tours we delivered in 2024, and are delighted to announce that as a result we established over 950M2 (over 10000ft2)of new woodland and planted 120 trees , which will continue to be managed over the next 5-7 years. A tree planting day took place this week , helping to establish a new temperate rainforest on Bodmin Moor. James was delighted to attend and had a great day planting over 30 trees .

Took another opportunity today to explore some more of hidden Cornwall. The Luxulyan Valley is probably the least known of the 10 districts that make up the Cornwall and West Devon mining UNESCO World heritage sites. It's a little gem with lovely woodland walks punctuated with amazing features and relics from a bygone industrial age. Not least of these is the impressive Treffery Viaduct ..built around 1840 it's over 220 yards (204m) long and spans the valley, almost uniquely it carried both a tramway and a water leat, servicing the Fowey Consuls Mine.
