Its been almost a year since out last post... please forgive us.

In celebration of our upcoming trip in October, here is a fun fact:

Leafcutter ants practice agriculture by cutting up leaves, chewing them into a paste, and growing mushrooms on them. Each leafcutter queen that leaves her mother nest brings a sample of the mother nest's spores, and scientists were able to track the DNA information in these mushrooms to trace the ants' lineage 50 million years.

Two great reunion parties and two great groups of Safari go'ers. We are working on the dates for the 2012 trip, some tweaks to the itinerary, but will still cover Cape Town, Wine lANDS, Garden Route, Moholoholo, Timbervati, Johannesburg, Livingstone (Zambia) and Chobe (Botswana). Get ready for another fantastic experience.

The sociable weaver (One of the 858 known South African Birds) is known for building a large nest which can support a population of up to 300 individuals.The nests have more then 50 entrances.
