If you're new to my page I wanted to introduce myself to you!! My name is Charity Stewart and I am a Certified Personal Trainer, Fitness Instructor and have owned my own personal training business for 3 years and my fitness business for 2 years, which I run online. I help individuals discover FIRST that they are valued as they are, that health is important, but that weight doesn't determine their

worth. I help them lose weight, get fit, eat nutritionally sound and become the best version of themselves. No weight loss gimmick here-- just hard work and results! I am a mom on a mission to help create something MORE. I want women and men be able to support their families, doing something they LOVE and feel FULFILLED doing, while still having time to enjoy their lives!! I am always looking for hardworking individuals who want to make the MOST out of their lives and to pay it forward to help others become healthier. It's hard to believe the primaries are tomorrow!

The best way to commit to making it to the polls is to MAKE a plan:

Decide what time you’ll go vote.
Make any necessary arrangements with work or childcare.
Invite someone to go with you!

This is one of my favorite spice blends to use on chicken - i make it in huge batches and then use liberally on chicken before putting it in the oven - it tastes great hot or cold!

SPICE BLEND INGREDIENTS:

1 tablespoon ground cumin

1 tablespoon curry powder

1 tablespoon chili powder

1/2 tablespoon ground allspice

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Every once in a while, a book, a quote. . . it comes into my life and turns my world upside down.

At some point in the middle of my journey to losing weight - the way I, for a long time, began to define" myself - I came across this quote. And it rocked me. Was I being authentic? Or was I simply trying to "fix" myself. And in my "fixing" something, was I trying to just cover up flaws rather than let who I was shine through them?

Was it just more mask? More hiding behind something?

Once I accepted WHO I AM - and that I'm valuable and worthy and beautiful all at once and not defined by standards outside of my own and my creator, Health became about self-care and I became less afraid to allow my authenticity to shine through.

I'm not saying don't eat the cookies! It's Christmas! Cookies, Cocoa & Holiday cheer all seem to go hand in hand!

What I am saying is this - if you EAT the cookies (candies, caramels, fudge & casseroles) - then TRACK it so you know HOW MUCH you're eating.

Holidays mean comfort food. It means sugar. It means "food with no brakes" - things we can easily eat 5, 6 or TEN of without even thinking about it. Tracking forces you to THINK about it.

So join me for my annual 7 day Christmas My Fitness Pal challenge, where you learn HOW and WHY to track your food - and how to adjust your nutrition to at least MAINTAIN where you're at through the holiday season.

OK! The kids are back in school! So Get PAID for being consistent and showing up for my Back to School Bootcamp starting September 5th!

Something RESEMBLING a schedule will finally take back over our days, and instead of entertaining the kiddos each day, perhaps we'll just be down to taxi-ing and the occasional sick day.

To my Moms who have been putting yourselves on the back burner and just can't catch a break but KNOW YOU NEED to make yourself a priority - -

Here are 5 household items you can use in place of exercise equipment:

1. Milk jugs. One full gallon-sized jug of milk weighs about 8.5 pounds, which is perfect for giving your arms a good workout. Try doing 2 or 3 reps of 10 bicep curls holding one jug with each hand. You can also hold one jug with both hands and do overhead presses.

2. Laundry detergent bottles. Laundry detergent bottles are also good dumbbell alternatives. A 72 ounce bottle weighs about 5 pounds.

3. Stairs. Use the original stair climber – stairs! For someone that is 140 pounds, just 30 minutes of walking up and down the stairs burns 175 calories. Running up and down the stairs is also a great way to combat cabin fever on bad weather days.

4. Chairs. Believe it or not, you can get a full-body workout using a simple dining room chair. For toned arms, try tricep dips. Stand in front of your chair with your back to the chair. Slowly lower yourself down until your legs form a 90 degree angle, and place your arms behind you, gripping the edge of the chair’s seat with your hands. In controlled movements, raise and lower your body to form a 90 degree angle with your arms. Aim for 3 sets of 12 to 15 reps.

5. Your body. Did you know that you already have a fabulous piece of gym equipment with you wherever you go – you! You can use your body weight for all types of strengthening and toning exercises. You can find tons of yoga, pilates and kickboxing routines online whether by using DVDs or YouTube, as well as other exercise moves you can do easily at home, such as burpees, squats, pushups, and high knees.

Don't forget you can always hike or take a walk!

Every day is SO HARD - and every day you have the choice to decide whether you're going to QUIT or KEEP GOING

My friend, make today the day you look back on as the day you kept going!!!!

Goals aren't achieved in one GIANT leap.
They're achieved in small steps. One at a time.
So don't get discouraged if you're not covering a ton of distance at once. As long as you're making steps... you're getting closer.

I just remembered I froze a TON of blueberries this year when they were in season.

I had bought 2 five pound boxes! Yep! 10 POUNDS of Blueberries, and I froze most of them (for real, peeps, frozen organic blueberries are expensive :o )

Anyhow, imagine as I scroll through my recipe folder on my laptop when one of my VERY favorite blueberry recipes jumps out at me and says "MAKE ME!" and I think - OK! But I don't have any.... YAY! I HAVE BLUEBERRIES!

What you think about comes out in your words and your deeds.
But even more so. Your thoughts and words and deeds become those of your kids.

I speak often to let the words of others slide off your back. To believe in YOUR self. YOUR vision. To not care about what others say - and to speak kindly of yourself because sometimes no one else will.

I had a message come through today that made me sad. I'm not everyone's cup of tea and I know that and I'm okay with that. But my son came in and saw me a bit down and asked what was wrong and HE gave ME a long lecture about believing in myself when others don't. He ended with this : "don't care about what others think about yourself - care about what you think about yourself."

Solid advice from a 9 year old.

It usually feels easier to stay where we are.

If we change, who knows where we'll end up...
At least this way - we may not be happy - we may not be healthy - but at least this way, we know the trajectory. We know WHERE we are and what the future holds.

What if we try a different way?
Sure we may get where we want...
But, what if we don't?
What if after ALL that hard work, we end up right back here where we are. Then we're failures, right?

WRONG.

You have to leave the harbor.
You have to pursue the change
It doesn't matter if you're afraid
It doesn't matter what you're chasing
And if you go after it with your whole heart and you STILL don't reach it, I can guarantee you will be changed SOMEHOW.
You can't pursue a goal with fire in your belly and NOT experience growth.

AND GROWTH is what we're after.
Not shrinking
Not retreating
Not remaining in the same place we've always been

Our ships weren't meant to sit in the harbor.
We weren't meant to simply look out to sea and wish we could feel the salty air
We were meant to be fully immersed in it

Yeah. That means pain. And "Failure". And Struggle

But ALL of those things mean one thing: YOU ARE ALIVE.
